Well that might be cause you are not from La, or Fl....I never really thought of it either, but really, it's a perfect card from this area, and a perfect card for my husband and I , as the kids are grown and moved, and it's just us left. And basically, we fish, and I take pics!
PS Rach, I thought it was a red, Hubby said it was a drum...my defense, Reds are drums aren't they?

Yes, Reds belong to the Drum family, but this is called a black Drum. The Redfish has more of a red head color to it. and a spot or more on it's tail area.
Let me see, if I have a picture. Not a very good one, but ya get the picture. Ha,ha
and I'm soooo flater that you like my idea and want to do something simular for your Christmas card.
This is a Redfish and me.
Redfish
Rach, that is a huge red for this area!! I caught a large one last weekend, but it pales in comparison to that one. They just aren't usually as big here...here's one of the largest I've seen come out of the waters around here...this is my husband, I didn't take the shot, as I wasn't fishing that day..it's bigger than it looks, my husband is a big guy 6'3".
In your holiday card, I just saw the head and it looked like a reds head, but as you pointed out, and so did my husband, it's a black drum.

That's a big red your husband has there. The limit in size here is 27" and you can only catch one that size. My fish was 42" so I broke the law.

The benefits of a camera phone picture into the glare is that no one can see my magic tricks. :D
If you look closely you will see a wire. :D
Here is an idea. We went to a Christmas festival in St. Charles, MO. They had people dressed in Old World Santa costumes. It was a great place for pictures. Parades, etc.
