There is a great site called Bridgehunter.com You can look up the history and any information on any bridge.

Thank you. I just looked up a bridge I had photographed last December (2019). In the town of Piru, CA.

My wife and I photographed it from the dirt road that goes underneath the old abandoned UP RR Pratt Truss Bridge. I am not going to at this time try to figure out its subtype. There is a creek that goes under to the West of where we were parked. Most people seem to photograph it from the new Center Street. But since there are no parking areas we went off road a bit. Crazy too using my Mazda 6i.

This truss bridge is in western Delaware County, Indiana. I can’t distinguish if the design is Camelback or Pennsylvania; they are so close in looks.

Nice shot, John. We still have a few scattered throughout the state, but not many.

Great image!!! John
Its a shame we are losing all this great looking bridges, only to have them replace with a slab of concrete with concrete sides, while functional I doubt they will last as long, in fact some that were built 30 yrs ago around here are already being replaced.

Thanks, Frank. I agree that those new ones don’t seem to last as long, and they aren’t nearly as photogenic, either.

Very nicely done, John. Great composition and perspective, I love how on the far side of the bridge you enter an icier tableau.
