I gave up on Adorama earlier this year when I ordered and paid for a new camera, then got one with over 300 counts on the shutter count. When I reached out to Adorama I was told they had no way of knowing if I had taken those 300+ pictures.....and left it at that. Fortunately the camera is working okay, but it is a used camera.

Also, in the order I made were a set of four filters. They came in the pouch advertised. When I checked them, one filter was not in the plastic baggie and was not only smeared with something, it had a large thumbprint in the middle of it.

It was because of this that I suspected other items to be used - and that's when I discovered the 300+ on the shutter count of the camera.

I've instead been very happy with BH Photo for other purchases.

When a store issues a refund to a credit card, it can take up to 10 business days to see. Adorama may have issued your credit to your card company, But it has not shown up yet. I , too, find this amazing as I am charged as soon as I purchase, yet when I am supposed to get a refund, it takes a while..But I have always gotten it

What do you expect, warehouse employees are minimum wage, little education. Very high turnover jobs. They are pushed to meet quotas. Uncaring mistakes are made and internal theft.
Do they care who you are?
Been there.

I would like to believe that you are incorrect. I am a strong believer that ADORAMA and B&H hire employees that are responsible, and trustworthy. I have done business with both with no complaint. To discredit some employees as a group is generalization and not really fair to those who are earnest in their work ethic. As for venting your complaint here on UHH that is your right. For others to become impatient, that is their right too. But to become hostile with each other is time consuming, and useless.

I would like to write that this is our forum for photographers. I’m here to learn, share, and grow. I hope the same is true for everyone else.

Two weeks ago I purchased 2 Flashpoint Zoom Li-on X R2 TTL On-Camera Round Flash Speedlights (1 for Canon and 1 for Sony). I received a shipment from Adorama on Nov 14. but it only contained the Sony unit. I checked the shipping and it said both were shipped in 1 box which. I checked UPS and the box weighed 2.7 lbs - each unit weighs 1 lb 2oz without all the materials in it. I weighed the boxed the unit comes in excluding the shipping box and it weighed 2.5 lbs so with the shipping box it weighs more. I deduced from the weight that they only shipped 1 unit.

I called up Adorama on Monday, on 11/16 (their customer service is not open on Sundays) to report the missing unit and cancel it as it would not come in time for when I needed it. They were suppose to give me credit, but have not. They have emailed me and keep on saying that they have to check with the ware house and they need 2 more days. They told me that the credit would be issued by last night, but I still have not received the credit. Be caareful when dealing with Adorama.

My only alternative is to dispute the charge when the bill comes in.

Your issue is with Adorama - why whine to us about it??

I ordered lighting from Adorama. I paid extra for for expedited shipping. I had a photoshoot and needed more light for my green screen. The lights came in as scheduled but the tripods were not shipped. I reached customer service in the Phillipines. I requested they overnight some tripods. They did not. I heard the same warehouse story. They eventually located the tripods and shipped them but much too late for my shoot. I will continue to use B&H. I never had an issue with them before this time. Adorama I have used infrequently before with no problems. Anyone can make a mistake but I did not appreciate their slowness in correcting it when they did.

"Leitz" I don't think he is whining to us. I appreciate knowing places that can give us a problem. He did mention that he had contacted them and received a stall. Also now "tillmanb" had a similar problem. I say thank you both for the information.

I can't speak for this situation having no first hand knowledge but I do know that if a retailer issues a credit for a return it can take several days for the bank/CC company to show it as actually happened. In our business I've had customers blame us for not giving a refund immediately even when we've shown them the cc credit print out. Of course the bank took it from our account that day.

Amazon is quick. Twice when I ordered something and returned it right away they issued a credit to my card within 2 days. The thing is, the bill for the items wasn't due until the following month.

That was not the case as it took the, 8 days to issue the credit.

All shipping is a mess. We shipped a package 2nd Day delivery USPS and it still has not arrived. Local news showed semi's lined up as far as you can see in picture and that was back up at the Allen Part postal center (for automatic sorting to got to some place sooner or later.
Another government operation.
Sure glad the military is not like that or I would still be in linebto come home from Germany during the occupation.

We all have our success stories and tragic nightmares with virtually every merchant including EBay, ADORAMA and the like. Rather than belabor the point, I can have a good experience and someone else might have one not so savory. We should not become adversarial from the start of a problem. I suggest that resolution is key. By finding out expectations in advance there is no little surprises to crop (sorry) up. Asking a ton of questions in advance is not a nuisance but a form of education. And yes, I have had surly experiences in the past but resolved them to a mutual satisfaction.

A little off-topic but Adorama related - I was buying a Flashpoint XPLOR 300 Pro TTL R2 Battery-Powered Monolight for my wife for Christmas that she saw at Adorama for $499. When I looked around, it looks like Newegg sells the same item for $469 but the Newegg ad says the item is “Sold and shipped by Adorama.” So if I buy the item from Adorama, it will cost $499 but if I buy it from Adorama, through Newegg, it’s $30 cheaper?
