Problem with getting credit from Adorama for purchase that was not delievered.

Two weeks ago I purchased 2 Flashpoint Zoom Li-on X R2 TTL On-Camera Round Flash Speedlights (1 for Canon and 1 for Sony). I received a shipment from Adorama on Nov 14. but it only contained the Sony unit. I checked the shipping and it said both were shipped in 1 box which. I checked UPS and the box weighed 2.7 lbs - each unit weighs 1 lb 2oz without all the materials in it. I weighed the boxed the unit comes in excluding the shipping box and it weighed 2.5 lbs so with the shipping box it weighs more. I deduced from the weight that they only shipped 1 unit.

I called up Adorama on Monday, on 11/16 (their customer service is not open on Sundays) to report the missing unit and cancel it as it would not come in time for when I needed it. They were suppose to give me credit, but have not. They have emailed me and keep on saying that they have to check with the ware house and they need 2 more days. They told me that the credit would be issued by last night, but I still have not received the credit. Be caareful when dealing with Adorama.

My only alternative is to dispute the charge when the bill comes in.

This doesn’t sound like Adorama. Please be persistent AND patient. Even though this problem has continued since November 16. I have never had issues with this merchant. It is unfortunate that this dilemma will not be resolved in time.

Well maybe this is the new Adorama? I spoke with 2 people and have received 2 emails stating that this should have been resolved already.

I’m only aware of one store called Adorama. If you are not getting satisfaction, you can place the entire purchase in dispute. You can dispute this purchase with your credit card company. If there is a dispute on file, the merchant does not get paid. Then this problem will eventually be resolved.

I know I could put it in dispute and I could prove I am right, but who needs to hassle? I know Adorama well as I worked there 34 years ago when they were on 34th St. across from Macy’s.

My recent interactions with Adorama CS have been very good. Hope yours gets resolved very soon. I was recently given a store credit but could not find it or use it. In an online chat I was given a credit number (sent via a email) that is entered in the checkout process for an order.

Supposedly they were to send me an email originally with the credit number, but somehow I missed it or it was never sent. I suggest you contact them via online chat. It's certainly served me well.

I called twice and got the answer you will receive it by later today. I did not receive any email.

If it's like the one I received (and I suspect it will be), its not very obvious. To use it, I needed the credit number and had to enter it as part of the checkout process of a new order.

I have been a customer since 2007 and never a problem with Adorama. I think that I would give them a few more days. In fairness, please let us know just how this turns out. Remember that Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday is less than a week away. I'm pretty sure that will impact everyone at Adorama, as well as COVID 19, etc.

I think a week and a half is enough time They promised to have it resolved by last Wed, and when I emailed them on Thursday they said please give it 2 more days. When I called yesterday they said I would have the credit by last night. Enough with the lies.

You know, coming here and complaining about a really good company too early, is, in my opinion, in very bad taste. A normal person would just continue to work with Adorama until the case is resolved. Which, I am confident that Adorama will take care of you and you will be compensated in the end.
Patience is a virtue, you should try it next time.
And PS, please do not buy any of my used equipment that I sell here from time to time.

I think a week and a half is not too early after being told numerous times that it would be taken care of within days. How long should I wait? A moth, 2 months, 6 months or a year?

I never complained about the used equipment I have purchased from various people/vendors. Don't worry as you would be the last person I would buy from.

It's funny that they charged my card as soon as I placed the order, but I have to wait for them to credit my account.

Have you checked with your bank? The credit delay might be on their end.
