On the Mac operating system Big Sur the plug-in for Photoshop filters will only work with 8 bit images for Luminar AI and 4, it will not work with 16 bit images and I was told a month ago by them that they are working on it. To me this is unacceptable.

The problem appears to be primarily with Windows.
I have not seen much issues with the Mac version

As reported in previous discussions, many of us are not having any problems with LuminarAI on Windows10. For my three local photography friends all of us installed and are running LumniarAI with nor problems.
From previous experience I have to agree with the OP that if you need support you're probably out of luck.
I am a long time Photoshop user and get into all the new software "toys". I signed up for the Dec 15th rollout of Luminar AI and had download problems too. By day 3 I was able to download with no problems. I'm pretty sure the shere traffic was the cause of aforementioned problems> However, I'm disappointed. Photoshop can now change skies, and moods are relatively easy to blend into any scene. I don't see the big deal and feel it has limited functionality at this time. Then discovered that more scene options are available...to BUY! So, another disappointment. I'm still impressed with Topaz Studio and Topaz 2 as plugins for the 2021 Photoshop. Like many here on this thread, I was totally frustrated with Skylum Support lack of response. I went another forum and found an e-mail e-mail address for Skylum support
urgent@skylum.com
I got a very nice reply with a temporary password in less than 2 hours. I had no problem downloading and opening the software. I have tried a couple of PP edits and find it very intuitive although it will take some time to learn all of its capabilities. Skylum - all is forgiven
This will be my last reply about anything around Skylum. After sticking around every since they became Skylum I've watched them put out incomplete products, pushing new features while not fixing the past ones. I didn’t upgrade to AI but waited until they put out a trial. I downloaded it today for my iMac. Opening it, tried 1 image, and realized a few things. First, it really is nothing but a new User Interface hiding behind new names - Templates are presets, the guts are basically the same as L4 without some of the features like layers. Then on the third template I used, the program froze not only itself but my mac as well (a kernel panic which is a real sign of poor programming and QA). After a hard reboot, I got on their Facebook group, posted, got shut down in 4 minutes (I actually had a stopwatch running). I've told them I am done and left the group. I uninstalled AI and I won't be looking back.
I am a retired software exec and know the behavior they are exhibiting means they are either trying to be bought, looking for a sugar daddy (VC who will only care about $), or going out of business. If you can, I suggest you get a refund because if any of these happen you will not be getting your money back.

TORMENT
I have had a career in law enforcement for over 30 plus years and I have done some background investigation into this company.
According to Legal records, yes in the USA they started out as MacPhum (doing Mac only) , in 2013 in Carson City Nevada. They did have corporate officers in Bellevue, Washington but, that was deactivated in 2019. Because of legal reasons they have registered corporate filings in the state of California and, as of 2019, that is when they established their so-called office in the City of New York. This was around and about the time of the origin of luminar AI.
When looking at the public records for the filing in New York, all of the names for principle individuals were very unique spellings, similar to what you would find for proper names for those who are foreign Nationals of another country...
I have done extensive research on the internet and through other sources and, although this company has been in business since 2013 in the USA, they have no public corporate phone number, they have no public phone number for their sales department, they have no public phone number for a showroom or sales department, and they have no phone number for technical support. Some people say they have a "Chat" tech feature on their website but, this is wrong. The chat box is nothing but a Robbo System" which ends up in an email.
When you send an email through the chat box or to their technical support, Only the Good Lord knows where the email goes to.
Yes, I could do a " whois" search on the company name but, I have not got around to that and it's not that important.
In my dealings, I have had four emails for the company. Each and every time it took a minimum of 44 hours to respond back to me. oh, and the last time it took over 73 hours for them to respond back to me for technical support. In their last email the only help they could offer me was to, either it reinstall the software or upgrade my operating system.
I came to the final conclusion that this is a ghost of a company and they do not want to be found. I came to the hard, fast conclusion that this is a company, or lack of a company, of which I do not want to deal with.
Yes, I have formally requested a full refund for the product vu emai and I am waiting to see the results. It has been 24 hours now.

Repleo, So...
You don't get 'satisfactory help and response from the official 'support@skylum.com' which is on the Company's 'Official Website'..... BUT, you find a third party 'forum' and you 'find' another email address via 'third party' which is: urgent@skylum.com
NOW, you work with that email address... and YES, get results But, you say ..... 'All is forgiven?? '
WOW!! Hummmmm !!!
Is that a way for a serious business to normally operates ???
You would kind of think that the 'Regular Joe Customer' should get the 'same' support that a person on a 'Third Party Forum' would get
Just saying ???

Just trying to help my fellow Hoggers. Sorry if I rained on your funk.
I downloaded my copy and installed it w/o any issues - PC, Win 10 Pro 64. I played a little bit with it, added a couple of folders.
I need to go to the tutorials, hunting and guessing is not a productive way to use software.
I've started several Luminar threads in the last few days. Today I fired off an email reguesting a refund with low hopes of getting one. Tomorrow I uninstall AI. Hard lesson learned.
