I took this with my Canon 7DmkII and Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens at 600mm on December 10th. Im just practicing for the big night. I guess the Tamron has a bit of CA in the corners. Download works best.

Looks good Alberio!
You got both the Rings of Saturn and the Moons of Jupiter.
I've been somewhat socked in the last several nights.
PHD is my "early warning system" and my last night it shown me clouds were coming when it began flashing red.
So I stopped my imaging in progress, saved, and shut down remotely.
Then did my Hee-Haa carry in. It was all over by 9:15 PM (19:15 Hrs)
It figures. Every time there is something special, the clouds come to watch.

Nice one Alberio. I expect the red and blue color on the edge of the planets is due to atmospheric dispersion not CA in the lens. I've seen this effect a lot when the planets get lower on the horizon. I'm hoping I will get some clearer skies by the 21st, but right now the forecast is clouds and rain for at least the next 10 days, so I may have to live vicariously though the photo's of the conjunction from those who have clear skies.

Thanks Ballard, I'm right now trying to blow the clouds away for the Geminids tonight, but I might have better luck at 2am. As far as the conjunction, I believe the skies will cooperate, hopefully, maybe.

Got this shot a couple of days ago with a Sigma 100-400 with the 1.4TC on a Leica SL2. Not too happy with overall sharpness. Focusing even in MF with focus peaking is difficult to nail, but I did get 4 of Jupiter's moons! Hint, look very closely at download). I am also wondering if the somewhat oval appearance of Saturn is not CA but a fuzzy image of the ring system.......

Thanks, I intended it to be an update and I think we all learn from each other. I like your images! The planets are getting closer together.
I recently sold all my Astronomy gear that I never got to use due to health issues. I never imagined that your picture was even possible with just a camera. I have the exact same camera, and lens that you have, and if the weather is on my side will give it a try.
