As the poster of another recent discussion comparing Micro SD card with adapter to full sized cards for use in our cameras, I do appreciate your efforts here! While speed is not huge issue for me, I too had my doubts about the loss of speed using the adapter and I think you did pretty much clear that up, at least for me. As for any perceived advantage or disadvantage to using the Micro SD card with adapter in my cameras, the only disadvantage appears to be simply the second set of contacts and I have had no issues so far. In fact, many folks see the second set of contacts as a plus and simply remove the Micro card from the adapter rather than repeatedly cycle the latch and contacts on their camera. Anyway, thanks for your efforts!

Plucking the tiny micro from the adapter that’s still in the camera requires care. Anticipate an anguished post from some wedding hack who has fumbled that job while standing over a storm drain ... worth at least ten pages of arguments from our most erudite online experts !

Yabut, it flies over the heads of half the people and to them you're an a$$hole, or perhaps you haven't noticed.

Knowledge is wonderful.
Correct knowledge is priceless!
(So is common sense.)

My cameras are 14 and 10 years old, the card locking mechanisms still work great.
I don't worry about them. I remove the adapter because it's easier to work with.

And THAT makes it even funnier to me. They don't get it.... hand moving over head.
(Stand up, maybe it will hit you the next time around the room.)

I probably noticed, but it doesn't bother me.
I'm not out for a popularity contest.

You should hear what I DON'T say!

Amen. Fuggem if they can’t take a joke.

Despite sometimes strongly disagreeing, it seems that we two have certain basic things in common.

That's what makes us different, but similar?

Get a Micro SD card to a CF card and a Micro SD card to a SD card and you will only need one type of card to carry.
I'll do that when my CF and SD cards go bad. I guess that will be a long long time.

Probably. I have memory sticks that are 14 years old, SDs that are 10.

Sounds like a plan though.

My only concern of using a micro SD adapter. The open of the back of the SD adapter thus allowing for moisture or dust to enter.
