I bought another micro, just to get the adapter. I felt bad destroying a perfectly good SANDISK adapter card,
but this is to prove a point.
The insides are simply "wire" extensions to connect the micro card contacts to an SD card reader.
NO electronics, NO DELAY.
Well, the length of the extension is about 9/16ths of an inch (.046875 feet).
At a nanosecond per foot signal delay, that's about .046875 nanoseconds, or .000000000046875 seconds.
So, who's
really going to worry about the delay incurred using an SD adapter card?
Definitely not me!
Now you're going to say the extra contacts will give you a problem.
Everything is gold plated, unless you get finger oils all over the micro connector contacts,
I wouldn't worry about that either as gold does not tarnish.
The contact wipers should displace the grime anyway.
(Since I could not find only an adapter card, I now I have an extra 32Gb micro SD card.
)

No, a pentatonic marimba in E flat.
But I want my files transferred now, not .000000000046875 seconds from now.

Oh, you guys!!!!! You're worse than my 4 crazy sons!
But thanks for the chuckle, this early in the morning. Much needed with all the corona-stuff going on around us! Keep up the good work!

I am so glad that you put it to rest. It has been keeping me up for eons trying to figure it out. Now I can move on to more important things like, should I use 1/125th at f8 or 1/60 at f5.6.
馃槒馃槒 No really, thank you.
I just got tired of people saying there is a delay with the adapter card.
People reading info from "experts" and propagating the erroneous information.......

You do know there
are people out there who have to have the fastest everything out there. - memory, USB, computer, ...
It actually matters to them that a file transfer will take 15 seconds instead of 25.
It's that important......
I am sorry I completely don鈥檛 understand the SD card vs Micro SD card discussions. My tablet and phone use micro SD cards my camera uses SD cards, I see no advantage of using a micro SD with an adapter in my camera, sure you can just don鈥檛 understand why you would unless some type of emergency and that鈥檚 all you had with you.

I don't either, I just use them.
路 Micro SDs are becoming more prevalent, SD less. More micros with adapters out there. I went to get twocards one tiime, store only had micros with adapters. I didn't want to run all over the place...
路 Micro with adapter cheaper than SD. (same vendor/model)
路 Many devices need the adapter for a micro. (no dual slots)
路 Many people are needlessly worried about using an adapter. It skeers {sic} them.
路 Micros are easier to loose.
路 Something to argue about (difference of opinions)

Humor - I love humor.
Especially dry or tongue-in-cheek,
As the poster of another recent discussion comparing Micro SD card with adapter to full sized cards for use in our cameras, I do appreciate your efforts here! While speed is not huge issue for me, I too had my doubts about the loss of speed using the adapter and I think you did pretty much clear that up, at least for me. As for any perceived advantage or disadvantage to using the Micro SD card with adapter in my cameras, the only disadvantage appears to be simply the second set of contacts and I have had no issues so far. In fact, many folks see the second set of contacts as a plus and simply remove the Micro card from the adapter rather than repeatedly cycle the latch and contacts on their camera. Anyway, thanks for your efforts!
