I have sold a number of cameras here on the UHH forum and have always gotten a sale at my listing price. You can sell here with assurance the buyer ( or seller ) is a good person who wants to maintain a good reputation on the forum.

What a great camera the D3S is! There's just something about the color that sensor provides straight out of camera.

I gave my original D3S to my daughter when whe was starting her wedding studio; several 100,000 shots later she's still using it. The low noise perfromance is incredible. I missed it so much that I purchased a low shutter count model from Roberts Camera. One of the best cameras Nikon ever made.

Good luck selling it - you shouldn't have a problem finding buyers.

I sold on here, Nextdoor and eBay. eBay will take a cut of your sale.

I just had a very good experience with MPB selling a D750 and acquiring a Nikon 105mm f2.8 Micro...

I'm curious if anyone knows where its best to sell a camera. I have a Nikon D3s in beautiful condition the box and all with about 22,500 clicks. Still very young in its life. I rarely use it anymore and want a reasonable price since its in great shape.

I know that many people who sell their gear is because they want ..... MONEY! That is not hard to figure out.

I on the other hand request friends to donate their Photography Gear to my late son’s charitable foundation. Since we are a 501(c)3 charity we are authorized to issue tax deductible certificates.

If someone doesn’t want the hassle of selling their stuff, they could donate it to a local school so as to create a new generation of photographers.

Otherwise, you can list your gear for sale here on the Ugly Hedge Hog.

You will get a better price selling direct to a person who wants the camera, RETAIL. Selling too a reseller will be at a price they can resell it and make a profit. Selling to a reseller will take away your responsibility of the individual buying it having any complaints.

Try Amazon, but they hold your money until it's delivered

You could try Facebook Marketplace. It seems to be overtaking Craigslist.
You meet the buyer so no shipping.

Fredmiranda.com and HERE do not charge fees when you sell, Fredmiranda charges a one time nominal fee to sell.
Ebay will charge 10% plus 3% for paypal.

PayPal charges 4% if it is bought from an out of the country account, regardless if it ships within the US. It happened to me and I complained, that's how I found out.

Another alternative is :

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/

It is a dedicated Canon site, but I see a lot of Nikon listed in the for sale section as well (scroll down the page near the bottom). A good part is there is no fee like you have on ebay transactions. And generally, folks are into photography and realistic about prices and knowledge of gear, etc.

if you just want to pack it up & sell it I would suggest B&H Camera & Video, I have used them because I don't won't to bother with the shipping & ect. but you won't get as much as you would if you sold it otherwise.

Ebay will generally net you a fair price. I buy and sell a lot of gear there. Good luck on however you decide.
