Slight re-edit with the button. I think this works better.

My only suggestion would be to get down to the subject's level.

I often try to do just that. However, this picture was taken on the fly and originally, when looking at it, had considered it a throwaway picture but his grin was so cute I attempted to see what I could do with it. However, now I'm glad i didn't delete it as I think it turned out really well.

I can't agree with keeping the button. It is a very nice photo, but your eye goes to the brightest spot. Don't think that you want to look at the button, so take it out.

Then those overalls look strange because there’s no button where the button should be.

Removed the button. I like both. I admit the button missing does help keep focus on the main subject.

The second one without the car seat is much better, just concentrate on that sweet face. As others have said, a portrait view would be better, you would have had more "base" to the face and not what I call a "floating head" image. In a setting like that you would not have any control of the reflections in his eyes but this would be a great shot for GrandMothers brag book.

This one was shot in a portrait. Not as big of a fan of his facial expression but at least this one shows a tooth!
