Is Big Sur exclusively 64-bit architecture or duplex 32-bit & 64-bit. And is all your software 64-bit architecture. There must be a database somewhere, I know not where.

Well Jerry, it seems like it's time to update your 8 year old hardware and your software. Maybe you should be looking at the New MacMini which has a very good price and very capable specs and can be upgraded at order time. The only problem would be that you will not be able to add a bigger fan or two.

It's called "moving ahead". Nothing is supported forever.

No problem on an Apple iMac 2015 model, and Photoshop works with no problems. The only software that did not work was Raw Therapy. I also have Affinity Photo, Exposure X6, On1Photo Raw 2021, Luminar 4, Topaz Studio 2, Pixelmator Pro, DXO PhotoLab 4, Aurora HDR 2019, Lightroom Classic, GIMP 2.10.14 and Dark Table all of which work normally.
It is macos for the Macs...not iOS. There are some issues with software but by and large anything that runs under Catalina runs under Big Sur. You can visit
http://roaringapps.com...they gave a long list of what does and does run correctly, mostly correctly, or not at all. That site has been around since at least macOS Lion.
Big Sur runs on both Intel based hardware and the introduced this past week Apple Silicon hardware which uses an Apple designed processor named M1. M1 is a version of the A14 that powers the latest iPhones and iPads but has more capabilities as they added what was needed for desktop computers...and it is a SoC or system on a chip which drastically reduces the chip count in the new hardware. Although not shipping yet...the M1 hardware is starting to show up on benchmarking sites and the new hardware appears to be significantly more powerful and with longer battery life than the essentially equivalent except for having Intel processors hardware they replaced.
The M@ hardware and Big Sur will also run iOS apps on Mac hardware...and include a translator named Rosetta 2 that allows older Intel software to run on the new processor. There’s not too much out on that yet...but apparently the is some sort of code translation when an Intel app is launched...and at least according to one page I saw the translated code is stored so it doesn’t need retranslating next time...but few details on that I’ve seen so far.

JimG1 has a link two posts prior that does work.

Does anyone know anything about the latest Apple iOS for iMac, 11.0.1, Big Sur? Like, does it create problems for Photoshop, or any other software?
Not known yet...
This is a new generation of MacOS (not iOS, which runs iPhones).
Big Sur runs on Intel-based Macs dating back to 2013 or 2014, depending on the model. It also runs on the new M1 Apple Silicon processors in the three new Macs that were announced this week and ship next week.
The advantages of Apple Silicon M-series systems-on-chips will be HUGE. The buzz on the Internet about them is very positive. But with any new technology, I wait for the early adopters to endure all the bugs.
Apple’s transition away from Intel will take about two years. The new MacBook Air, 13” entry-level MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini are screaming fast at running benchmarks. Reviewers will weigh in on real-world performance over the next few weeks.
Developers may need to tweak a few things for MacOS 11 on Intel, too. Follow the Apple Support forums to learn about issues as they arise.

Big Sur does not only run on Apple’s M1 chip it also runs on Intel as well, I have MacBook Pro 16” and I updated from Catalina to BigSur and I’m not having no issues, I have PhotoShop And Lightroom, ON1 Photo Raw 2021, Nike Effects, Portrait Pro 19, FXhome Greenscreen, Affinity, Wacom Tablet software, On 1 AI, Canon software, Data Color 5, Final Cut X, Luminar 4, Toast Pro, Google Chrome, and I have ran each one to check for issues and I have had no issues, so rather you choose to update are not is up to you I’m just telling you my experience, it does not only run on the M1 chip.
Big Sur does not only run on Apple’s M1 chip it al... (

I installed Big Sur yesterday on my ageing Mac mini. The only problem I had was that Thunderbird threw a wobbly. Re-installing it sorted that out. I haven't tested everything, but both LR and PS seem to be working without problem. I have exported a JPEG from LightRoom successfully, although I have read that this is one of the issues with Adobe.

Again, this is not iOS, it is OS X Big Sur.

Well, macOS Big Sur (11.01) to be precise. OS X is no more.
