Can someone suggest software which will backup my pictures and then add only new ones when I backup the file again? And if I delete some pictures from the file will the backup also delete them? Thanks for your help.

Best I've ever used is GoodSynch. It's a WYSIWYG backup with no meaningless coding. Once you create a backup set you can either have GS perform an update/deletion/addition for that set automatically or on demand. It's pretty straightforward/user friendly. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Second Copy will fulfill all you photo back up needs. Great intuitive program.

SyncToy from Microsoft. I have been using it for years with no issues. Run it when you want a backup or schedule an automatic backup for a time every day.

I realize that the title of this thread is "Backing up pictures", but I feel I have to remind everyone occasionally that your computer has things other than photos that should be backed up. I suspect (without any evidence at all) that no more than one of us in every thousand has their computer dedicated to photos to the exclusion of everything else. And there are other things on your computer that would cause you pain (or even mild inconvenience) if they were to be lost somehow. For that reason I always recommend more general backup systems than those that are dedicated to a specific type of file. (And "photos" covers a wide range of formats -- are they all supported in the photo backup systems? Sure, they will save jpgs, but will they save tif, gif, png, bmp, heif, jpf, jp2, cr2, nef, orf, dng, video files...)?

+1

Also when you get a new computer, it makes setting up a breeze. A back up should include your complete computer. I back up photos separately on different drives than other stuff.

I didn't mention that my external hard drive and Carbonite backup everything, Amazon Photo is just photos.
