I’m sure it must be “Zed seven aye-eye.” 😁

I am curious about how to pronounce the new Nikon Z's. Is it Z7 II as in roman numerals, or is it Z7 two? Not interested in owning one as I don't money to buy the glass to get to where I am with y D810.

Boring...

It's actually Zed seven two. And the correct writing is Z7ii.

I believe most people (now) would pronounce it "two" as it is a written representation of a count of two.
Just like "2" is a written representation.

BUT, maybe the Romans when describing multiple units would say "I have eye-eye pets"....
Anyone know the Roman spoken word for "II"? Maybe the pronunciation they used was different that what we (would) use.

How does one pronounce the Canon 5D Mark IV???
I know how "I" pronounce it.....
and it's not "ivy".
I believe most people (now) would pronounce it &qu... (show quote)

That is what I was going to bring up. The full formal name is probably Nikon Z7 mark II. 2 and II are pronounced the same as far as I know, as "two". Same with Pentax models. I'd say Nikon Zee Seven Mark Two. Zed is too Euro for me. I usually would see that as the German "Ƶ". The usual question is how to correctly pronounce NIKON. How do Japanese pronounce Z7ii? But that and the preceding are "Sheldon Cooper" too fussy.

I call it a nikon z7 two, but I really dont count . I thought about giving up my D810 and going to the z7 two but $3k just turns me off, plus ive been reading other cameras are better...

No matter what camera you’re looking at you’ll be reading that other cameras are better. I have the original Z7 and it’s a great camera. The Z7II looks even better.

Actually written Z 7II according to Nikon, but nobody else writes it that way. It’s either Z7 II or Z7II

The other variable is how one pronounces the "Z" ... I have heard it pronounced as "Zee" which is obvious, and some videos on Youtube pronounce it as "Zed." Go Figure!

Zed is an old British way of saying "Z".

How about we start a trend to use the US Military phonetic "Zulu" just to confuse more people.

Yes, "Two." Otherwise, when we got to the Z6 III, people would be saying, "Aye, Aye, Aye!"

Add one more and you can sing it.

The Z on the body is placed on it's own so when you are shooting vertical it says N

Latin word for II is "duo". Stick with the English translation "two".
