I use Luminar 4 sky replacement often. Yes, you need to use dehire or contrast to separate that back row of mountains from the original sky. Then it is a matter of the sky global, sky local and the close gaps sliders to make it work. Then "relight foreground". If you have LrC you can go directly ie: Photo>edit with Luminar. I only use my own skies so there are ethical questions.

Every time we press any button we are adjusting what is there. My thoughts tell me the first exposure exposure, Lights, shadows, auto button, or any other photograph enhancers we are changing the photo of something into art. Photoshop artistry?

Sorta, but if you look at the original image from above, it is barely worth keeping. But replacing the sky and a few other enhancements, it's a keeper. Not much different than the argument when digital first arrived and film was the only real image. Not...Adjustments made in the darkroom, we just didn't see them before and after.

Looking for help to adjust sky replacement over a mountain horizon. The feature does well on flat or broken up/ partly obstructed horizons. Follow the horizon and you will see clouds overlaying the mountains, especially in the upper right under the evergreen. I've worked the blend and adjust levers but can't seem to get a good result. Any thoughts?

Use the masking brush to eliminate the clouds over the mountains.

While in the Sky Replacement Module, select 'Advanced Settings'. Try moving the 'Close Gap' slider to the right until the sky no longer interferes with the mountain. For me, a setting of about '20' removed the clouds from the mountains. If for some reason that doesn't work, then while still in the 'Advanced Settings' select 'Edit Mask', select the 'brush'. Set the brush parameters on the toolbar, located above your image, to 'erase' and 'softness' to near '0'. Then brush away the clouds that are covering the mountains.

Try those. If it still doesn't work there's one more, albeit more difficult, alternative, i.e. using a 'stamped layer'.

The OP was looking for help with software, not your snarky opinion. If you can't answer the question (which has been answered) then why make the world even more contentious than it already is.

Matt Suess is a ambassador for Luminar. He just did a video comparing L4 and L AI with PS 2021. It showed that both Luminar products had artifacts in the foreground of complex images like yours. PS did a much better job.

Matt K did a video meeting yesterday. He had asked people to send in 2 images - one with a sky replacement and one without a sky replacement. Then in the live video he and all the people online guessed which was the sky replacment. Guess what - even Matt guessed wrong on some. It may have been recorded if you like.

Also Matt Suess did a video comparing sky replacement using l 4 and L AI vs PS. PS won hands down. Not good news for Luminar AI sales. I expect them to fold or be purchased soon. Sure glad I didn’t prebuy L AI.
