Beautiful car and scarce as few 61 409s were sold. I had a 62 SS409 as my first car. 24 cars later, it still remains my favorite. Thanks for the memories.

Thank you for your kind words however my particular car because if it’s rarity it’s a super sport has factory air conditioning and it’s a convertible makes it’s worth somewhere in the six-figure range

Wow, that's great.

That's a beauty. It's hard for me to think of that as old because I remember when they were new.

Beautiful car, well photographed. We lived in Woodside from '67-'71 and my Father in law lived in Bayside. We loved Ben's Deli in the shopping center in Bayside.

That's a beauty. I had a '61, dark blue. Great car. Mine was a hardtop though.

Thanks ! I learned something. I had no idea the 700 R4 was available in ‘61.

The 700 R4 came out in 82, the TH400 in 64. Before that there was the Hydra-matic which was used mainly by Pontiac, Olds and Cadillac. It was a 4 spd automatic.

I would like to share my beautiful 1961 super sport impala convertible with you she’s almost 60 years old has factory air conditioning and has every conceivable option they had in 61 except power windows
If you remember back in 1961 the Beach boys sang about my car do you remember 409?

How long have you owned that beauty? Nice.
