Out of Wrangell one can go up the river and see that beauty. As John Muir said the Grand Canyon of the north. Sadly I has bad weather as you can see. The little houses that are anchored on the river are for the Government folks as the air draft of the river keeps the Mosquitoes away.

Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Nicely done Mike.

That’s a great set, and an area I’ve never been to before. Too bad about the weather, Mike, but SE Alaska is plagued with that kind of weather, so you make the best of the situation I guess. I really like the way you captured that unusual waterfall. Thanks for sharing that adventure. Have a great day.

Thank you very very much Greg, I went some years after again, the weather was even lousier, I took some shots, maybe I post them some times. But as you know, it rains almost every day in Wrangell.

Yes it seems to, doesn’t it? We lived in Petersburg in the early 50’s for a couple years, and it rained a lot there, too. The common saying was, “If you want to live in SE Alaska you need to develop webs between your toes!” I think there is some truth in that. Those popular boots, B.F. Goodrich X-tra Toughs were referred to as SE Alaska sneakers. Yep, it rains a lot there.

Very nicely done! In 2014 I also sailed on the Stikine River out of Wrangell, and the weather was even worse than you encountered. Our small tour ship also had visited Petersburg the same day. On the Stikine we saw those very same floating cabins. Did you visit the glacier?

Thank you very very much David.not on this trip, but I wanted to see the glacier, so on a second trip I saw the lake and the glaciers, but the weather was worst. I took some pictures I will put post them soon.
