Really like the church. I would get rid of concrete steps.

Thank you very much, bbradford. You're the second person to give that suggestion and that scene could certainly be shot that way, and would be great. My reasoning for this composition was to emphasize it was on a hill. But, I do appreciate your suggestion as the steps take up a third of the photo.

I posted a photo of this church in the summer of 2019. However, I wanted an autumn photo of it, but missed the good color last year. Last Friday I was there during peak color. The church is located on the Leelanau Peninsula that forms the west shore of Grand Traverse Bay and is about 20 miles north of Traverse City, Michigan. The historic marker in the second photo speaks of the Old Mission, which was on the peninsula that runs half-way up the center of Grand Traverse Bay. It is still called Old Mission Peninsula. This area and church were referred to as the New Mission at that time. Download of the first photo is recommended.

Great shot of the church in Omena, John! I'm glad the color lasted for your visit up here. A few yellows left here today (10/22) but most are on the ground now.

Thank you very much, KT. The color was very good. However, there were gale warnings that night and a bad storm and the following night similar. That took down a lot. I'm sure you got some of the same storms too. Was able to get out a couple more times, but had some outdoor work to get done that took precedence.
