Can anyone tell me about a DRY BOX / Cabinet for your cameras and lenses.
Do any of you use them?
What would require using them?
What is a good brand?
Any and all information would be appreciated.
Thanks
Living around the world in all climates, never worried about it and no problems.
I do oil and clean all firearms regularly though regardless of climate.

Desiccant cartridges in any small reasonably air tight enclosure will work. just recycle the desiccant in an oven every couple of months.

I've kept all my gear in a bag or two for over 45 years.
Even when I lived in Florida as the house was air conditioned.
I would however use dry boxes if I lived in a very humid area with no A/C.
I definitely would not worry about a week or two in a humid location.
All I use "Rubbermaid" plastic storage containers. with silicate gel for maintaining dryness.
Checkout gun cabinets some models come with dehumidifiers, and some have kits to add them on.
I live in humid Houston, TX and as long as my equipment is in my house with AC on, I just store my camera and lenses in camera bags in my closet. In my garage I keep my old tripods and other such stuff that is not affected by temperature or humidity.
Some of my friends use their gun safes for their camera stuff--for safety and humidity control. The safe has to have some sort of humidity control.
If I had the need I would buy large bags of desiccant and place them in a Pelican Case or Igloo cooler along with my cameras and lenses.

I have a bunch of plastic shoe-box sized bins. I put a bunch of those little gel packs in to control moisture, etc.
As you know and especially during the summer months Miami, here in South Florida is hot and humid. In the first place, I keep my gear in an air conditioned room. I keep lenses and cameras inside a cooler with a desiccant that I change periodically. Also periodically I bring my cameras and lenses to outdoor temperatures and expose them to the sun for a short while. DO NOT expose cold cameras or lenses to the sun because the results could be disastrous for your gear....unless it is winter.
I have controlled mold and mildew very well over the years using this method.
