I was curious as to what would happen if I took the original photo, cropped to 8x10 and then used my work flow process. I use NX2 to define black/white/neutral colors, check focus and color depth with ON1 and then try de-noise in Perfectly Clear. I also used Photo Shop Elements to bring out detail of eye, darken background and branch.

I think you should try Topaz Denoise AI. This one loses a natural look and looks highly processed.

I see the second one with a purple color. I didn't run it to the printer to see if it carries over.

This morning I purchased this program and used it on only one image as I had other commitments. This particular image I liked except for the noise so which better one to experiment with. I was amazed on two counts, first in how fast it was and secondly in the amazing job it did. My Topaz AI Sharpen is extremely slow but this program was like lightening. Now this is only one image I experimented with so time will tell as I move forward. Also Topaz recommends using Denoise as the first step in your image processing. Enlarge these and see the stunning difference. Now isn't this strange???? The one with the Denoise applied looks purple on my screen until it is downloaded. Let me know if it looks purple on your screen.

The smaller images that are part of your post are different. The second one definitely has a purple look. When I click the download links and look at each image, they appear identical.

Yes, The second one has a purple bird and the right bright area is purple. Very strange.

Not strange at all. It's based on UHH's handling of thumbnail color spaces as pointed out earlier in this thread.

If I expand both of the images I still see lots of noise in both. As a test I dropped the first one into Topaz Studio 2 and applied AI Clear. When I tried AI Denoise (which includes AI Clear) most of the time I got a better result with AI Clear.

AI clear has a far greater tendency to soften fine detail, so even though it appears to give you better noise reduction, that comes at a price.

I feel the ai denoise example is pretty chunky if you blow it up. With TS2 I can add detail back in quite easily. But that is me. I really have had issues with every Topaz product except TS2.

I agree. I use Denoise AI on nearly every image I keep. To me what is important is, "do I like the results". The answer is yes at least 95% of the time so I use it.

I see no purple. I do see the improvement, but only when I blow up the image.

I have Topas Ai Sharpen and Ai Denoise too. My experience has been identical to yours. I find Ai Denoise terrific. Fast and effective. I'm still working on Ai Sharpen.

I have it and use it regularly. Also have AI Sharpen, AI Gigapixel and AI Mask, though the last two are used that much, only here and there.
