Stick a piece of Gray Tape over the 7500 Compartment opening, and enjoy your camera.
I had my D5300 refurbished. It has a 18-140 lens. Both are DOGFOOD !!!!!!!

I recently purchased a Nikon P1000 refurbished. I will only buy refurbished equipment refurbished by the factory. I find the equipment as good as new and a couple of hundred dollars cheaper.
I have always purchased lenses that have a high condition rating from reliable sources like Adorable, KEH etc and I have had no issues. I have a couple of camera bodies that had high condition ratings and appropriate shutter counts without any issues. So far I have either been lucky or the condition ratings are pretty spot on.
I would do it again. I will be in the market next year for an EOS-R6 but if I can save even a few hundred dollars it is worth it.
anyone who has a dual batttery has removed the door to put the dual battery box on and if they havent lost it, they might give it to you..

In June 2020 I bought a Nikon Refurbished D7500 from Adorama (a very reputable company). In my various photo walkabouts the camera has worked fine. Recently (passed any warranty period) I noticed the battery compartment door was missing. I don’t know where I lost it. I can’t believe I tore it off. The comparable door on my old much used D90 seems quite sturdy, and I haven’t torn it off in over 10 years of intensive use on my various trips. Maybe this begs the notions of:
• Are refurbished items as sturdy and the new off the shelf items?
• Refurbished buyers beware?
• Inspect your refurbished item VERY carefully.
Do you in your collective wisdom think this is worthy of repair at a reasonable price (<$200)?

I lost one a few years back and was able to order for a few bucks ($8.99 Amazon prime) and easy to install.
Since then I’ve double checked latching and haven’t lost another.
I have been very satisfied with Nikon refurbs. Your loss had nothing to do with camera being refurb.
Same here...Amazon for my old D700; inexpensive & could repair myself...simple process.
I bought my D750 factory refurbished in 2017 and it has been great. Had it refurbished a second time after I took a fall and it was damaged. The second time was like new when I got it back.
