Dreyer's announces new name for 'derogatory' Eskimo Pie months after pausing production
Remember children's rhyme "sticks and stone will break your bones but words will never hurt me.
Personally, when person "A" tells me I said or did something offensive to "A", I get the impression that "A" cannot control his or her emotions and "A" wants me to control his or her emotions for them. I find that offensive to me.
All races have done horrible things to other races.
"That does not justify punishing their descendants, nor does it justify ignoring the sins of our forefathers."
You are absolutely correct and I probably worded my response incorrectly. What my thinking is, recognize that mankind has not been kind to each other for thousands of years. We should try to lift each other up and encourage the improvement of their lifestyle, without making them so dependent upon government handouts that it takes away their identity. People who live a lifestyle completely different to ours aren't necessarily poor or oppressed. If we are currently doing this to people it is wrong and should stop.
I need to remind my Better Half that some of the names she has called me at times when I forget to put the toilet seat down are not 'Politically Correct' however I'm sure that she would quote the famous line, "Frankly, I don't give a damn".

Trivial to you, not to those who bear it as an insult, indicative of the unjust treatment of their people. This is not trivial. Get a heart. Learn to respect the humanity of others.
BTW I've got a job: news, feature and documentary cameraman, thirty years making six figures traveling the world with a camera. I've learned a lot about the dignity of humans of all colors and in all walks of life.

They don't like Eskimo any more than you like Honky
People need to get off the "thin skinned I'm a victim" bandwagon. We have all become wusses.
[quote=Triplets]Thank you. Next thing you know someone will be offended by the region of New Hampshire called the White Mountains.
LOL....What about the ‘Black Hills’ or ‘Badlands’ of Southern Dakota. The ‘White Sands’ NM. Where will the lunacy stop?
In college a black woman in my class did a paper on why people should refer to them as black and not colored. She wasn't being radical or being racist, just reflecting on the times. I asked why the NAACP didn't change their name to "National Association for the Advancement of Black People". She had contacted them and was told it would cost to much and might confuse some people.
I know at one point Black was out of favor and African American was in. Then some scholar woke up and told the world that not all Blacks are African. Now some folks were getting really confused.
Well, we have finally got it straight. The "N" word is out, African American is out, Black is out, Colored is out, but "People of Color" is in ... at least for now.
These changes didn't pop up on their own over night. The average person, black, white, yellow or green, didn't wake up one morning and have an Ah Ha moment. Somebody has an agenda, but nobody seems to know who.
My black friends say the same things as my white friends, "Call me whatever you want, just don't call me late for Happy Hour".

We are all the wrong colors.
Asians have green tone skin(that's why fujifilm has more magenta). Indians are red skins. Aboriginals(all Indians of the world) are brown skin. Africans are dark chocolate skin. Mulatos are a mix, light brown.
And finally we white people are PINK!.
So, where are the white and black peoples?
I want my Aunt Jamima, Uncles Ben's, Sambos Restaurants, Chef Boyardie, etc etc etc
