I am from the same area as you are and appreciate the camera angles that you used to take these photos. Most people take the path of least resistance and shoot from the road, which results in a rather mundane photo. I really like shot #1!

The first is the best - shows the mill and nice reflection without other clutter in the water and surroundings. Well done.

As usual, I disagree with most everyone else. I like the last one best. It shows the mill in its environment without the intrusion of that tree trunk in #3. The reflections in the water are quite pleasant, and the placement of the mill and its accompanying walkway is nice. The tone of the image is nice, but might need to be tweaked for printing.

This mill is located near my house ... Thanks.

Of course, you didn't give us your address. Not that I would "drop in for tea" but in case I want to find the mill and "snap it", is it in a Park or something like that? Does it have a name? Little help, please.

I like #1 and #4. Im from Birmingham and my mom used to live two miles from the mill. Been by it thousands of times in my 63 years. You did it justice!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to look at and comment on my photos. Your comments were fun to read as well as informative. I appreciate your constructive criticism.

It sounds like some of you are familiar with Birmingham and the Old Mill. If you find yourself in Birmingham, I would be glad to take you to some interesting places to shoot photos.

Although everyone but you likes #1 best, I remain torn between #1 and #3.

What sort of tweaking do you recommend for #3? I'm learning and am curious to learn what others might do to improve the photo.

Beautiful set and I agree on #1 as the one that stands out. Lucky to have such a beauty close by. Perhaps you would like to post some fall photos from there. Thanks for sharing your work.

I actually didn't include #3 in my consideration because of the tree trunk. I prefer #4 to #1 because of the placement of the mill and the inclusion of more of its surroundings.

Number 1 definitely, but I also like number 4. Number 1 has just about everything that makes a photo great.
