My only suggestion is: Since you live close, don't settle for 1 visit.
Go back, then go back, and visit many, many times.. Looking for changes of the elements in the photo (season, light direction, water level, angle of view.. and others) to improve and most of all............. Make yourself happy with what you have
Be bottom line is ... you have a 'wonderful' location there, take advantage of it, working your shot, until you are satisficed ... Digital is cheap

Shots are nice with very well exposure. The third photo must be cropped to avoid the tree. But as a beginner it is a very good job.

Luv them all but the last one tells the story for me. Thanx for sharing.
I think each of these photo's need no correction for the average viewer, each of them can easily stand alone, my personal preferance would be #3 from the top.
