The osprey have returned to North Padre Island for wintering.

They fish the nearby Laguna Madre and in our neighborhood canals for sea trout and mullet, then perch on nearby telephone poles, flagpoles and the like.

Every evening from my back deck I get a fly by or two like in this sequence. I know blue sky backgrounds are boring but it is what it is. Please view the downloads.

I don’t think blue skies are boring. They don’t detract from the birds. Great captures.

Thanks NMGal. A lot of folks suggest I replace sky backgrounds for blue sky shots, but that is not my preference. I like to keep the background "as shot".

Thanks Ourspolair. These birds indeed cooperate nicely and come overhead at really great lighting times in the afternoons. I am very spoiled by this.
