Thanks, Mike, but those blue skies still generally come and go. Early this a.m., the sky was blue(-ish), but was completely cloudless. By mid morning, the white haze returned, and that persisted while I replaced the 79 cents worth of rubber 'leak stopper' thingies that --after I'd disassembled and replaced them-- stopped the slow but steady drip-drip-drip of my bathtub's spigot. Beyond that, everything was pretty un-special on up through sunset.
There is no beauty --per se-- in Utah. There's only beauty in whatever you see, and whatever it is that you experience.
I spotted this one coming thru on my last trip. For such a dark cloudy sky I thought the beauty really stood out. I decided then that I have to come back and go a little further north to the canyon I had mentioned. Would love to catch the setting sun highlighting the formations and making the walls glow. I suspect you have traveled this route many times. I've been to Arches back in 94 when my girlfriend, now wife, was trying to teach me which end of a camera to look through. Sad to say the majority of my trips thru your area have been at night. Even then I was totally mesmerized with the dark skies and being able to see low orbit satellites with the naked eye.
Like the title and a lovely photo, Cany.
The range of colors is fantastic!

Huh? Oh, yeah; that's right; you once lived around here, too.
But not recently, apparently. Now, places like this are called a frikkin' oasis!
Yes, I did. But a long time ago. I guess I'll have to update my terminology. Frikkin' oasis. I'm not sure I like the sound of that but you're the local expert so I'll go with it.

Ah! The backside of The Reef! Yes, I've seen this view --and others like it from roadless canyons that cut through the San Rafael Reef-- once or thirteen dozen times. And yes, when either side of The Reef gets lit up at first or last light, its certainly something to see. As regards the view you posted here, consider: Man stood on the Moon before that section of I-70 could be blasted out, up and through Spotted Wolf Canyon (the cleft shown in your pic).
Stunning in every way!

Appears top be a photo of another planet not of this earth. Thanx for sharing.
