All lithium batteries carry the possibility of explosion (no matter how rare). I would rather have one go el caboomo in the charger than ruin the camera

You make taking the battery out sound like a big deal. I just timed swapping batteries and putting one on the charger. Eight seconds. Fiddling with a cord, though I didn’t time it, has got to be longer process. I save precious seconds by leaving my charger plugged in all the time.

Actually if the camera has to be charged like my Iphone then I would hate it because if the battery is low and I need to shoot I will have to wait until I charge it. With the camera I can simply swap the battery.

Rude or sarcastic I agree with you. Can one complicate maters by being so lazy or incompetent to be unable to remove a battery.

It doesn't complicate matters at all. And it's not being lazy. It's just using another choice. For me, I swap batteries I have three for my 7200 and I swap if I'm out and about when I get home I charge on the charger. But if a camera can be charged by cable, it more than likely would be a mini USB which most of us have dangling somewhere in the house to charge our phones, so it would be a convenience plug the camera in before you get in the shower or while you're having coffee. So I don't think the app was being lazy he was just asking for information to clarify what he'd been told. And when we have choices it's like opinions everybody has a different one.
