We lived with severe hazardous air quality (514 was the worst day here, worst air in the world) for over a week. Had to seal all windows and doors and run HEPA air filters. Smoke so thick it looked like an extremely foggy day outside. I took these shots with a micro four thirds Olympus OMD EM-10 Mark II camera and Rokinon 12mm wide angle lens. RJW

Wow..magnificent set...the pics are awesome!! I hope you can breathe better now
and getting some fresh smokeless air. Welcome to the forum rjw!
Dramatic, well-done photos! The experience must have been frightening. Happy to have you join us.
The smoke here at Merlin, OR, was terrible for 8 days but we now have had rain!
But your photographs are a reminder of what was an apocalypse and really still not ended. The Slater fire is above 150,000 acres and only 24% contained.

That is Incredible bunch of shots of the area & sky. Looks like a movie set or something very dramatic as such.
The air quality must be terrible as well and you must feel trapped by the events surrounding you.
Best wishes to you and your people at this time of extreme stress.
Wow, it looks like the fire makes its own weather!
Stunning photos. They really show the peril with which you folks are dealing. Stay safe.
Wow. These are fantastic. Very scary... hope your air quality improves
Thanks for all of the supportive comments. We are doing fine now. Even had a couple days of blue sky and clouds and the air quality is good. Fires are still burning though and many are still in peril and have lost everything in the fires. People are very generous and opening their homes to the homeless and many contributions of clothing and food and cash donations. It will be a long time before "normal" is seen here so "We are in this Together" is a significant statement and one that is realized here every day.
