I am a new member and this is my first post. Retired and living in a retirement community. These fire clouds passed over our residence two weeks ago yesterday. We lived with severe hazardous air quality (514 was the worst day here, worst air in the world) for over a week. Had to seal all windows and doors and run HEPA air filters. Smoke so thick it looked like an extremely foggy day outside. I took these shots with a micro four thirds Olympus OMD EM-10 Mark II camera and Rokinon 12mm wide angle lens. RJW
Those scenes could be straight out of an apocalypse movie.
That's a bit too close for comfort. Having had up close and personal experience with two fires, I'm not interested in being involved with any more.

The entire west coast is in flames, unfortunately, it is becoming a regular issue around the west. This picture is from Milpitas California 45 minutes from San Francisco. We had this bad air for 1 month.
Just fabulous shots of the fire clouds. Other worldly. You did real well in documenting them. Good luck.

Ominous to say the least....
Great shots of a perilous situation!
Scary images for sure !! Climate change is real. The northwest is becoming drier and drier. The Midwest and east coast wetter and wetter.
Good series. Tragic fires.
I have a cabin in the woods and am always fearful of people setting off fireworks, failing to properly tend fires, and lightning. One careless act or omission or 1 spark from a naturally occurring source and many will be homeless. My empathy is with the people of the West Coast, those having lost homes and belongings, those fearful of same, and those with breathing problems, as well.
Thank you for your superb pictures reminding so many of us of others’ plight and our good fortune in not currently facing such horrific calamity.
Beautiful renderings of a dramatic but sad environment. Stay safe and well - keep on posting.
Frightening; hoping the fires miss you and brought under control throughout the west. Stay safe and thanks for sharing
WOW, simply outstanding photos!! Stay safe, and welcome to UHH!

Glad the weather has improved and you can breath fresh air. Must have been scarey living through it. Stay safe and well.
