One CAN join NPS, it is done all the time.

NPS is ONLY for FULL-TIME, WORKING PROS, unless you suggest everyone LIE to get in. If that happens, the benefits for those who need them are diminished. There are minimum equipment (serial numbers of USA PRO cameras and lenses) AND Published photo requirements along with the recommendation of two current members. Please, do not spread false info on NPS or you just might find yourself looking in from the outside. Personally, I will not sign for anyone I don't personally know is a pro and suggest you don't either.

I purchased a used Tamron 200-500 at The Photo Center at a reasonable price and have been very pleased with it. Also bought a ProMaster tripod with which I am very pleased.

Aren't you buying a Nikon 800mm 5.6? And a big tripod? and a Gimbal head?
If you join Nikon Professional Services, they will get you one.

For what? Less than I could find it anywhere else? Do they honor warranties?

I thought there was some type of catch. I wouldn't do anything that dishonest anyway.

I have tried numerous times to just get off their mailing (electronic advertising) list. I constantly receive their notices that the lens is not available. I have tried to unsubscribe countless times and telephonically at least twice. I bought the lens at least a year ago from District Photo in Virginia. I am always treated well and fairly there and never pestered.

I didn't have a problem getting off their waiting list, but their electronic advertising list is another thing.

Nikon 500 PF....I was on the wait forever list from B&H & Adorama. I spoke to Steve Perry a knowledgeable Nikon guy who does considerable research on their products and is a contributor on this site. He pointed me to a Nikon authorized dealer www.ProCam.com located in the midwest (Detroit, Chicago & Cincinnati). I called & discovered they had 3 of them in stock....Also found out hat Roberts Camera in the midwest had 1...

That's why I suggested people just go down the authorized Nikon dealers list one by one until you hit pay dirt.

I am not spreading any untruths, again, ANYONE can join as long as they meet the requirements. Again, ANYONE can join. They do not EXCLUDE anyone who does not meet the requirements.
Please calm down and have a nap, or a cup of cider and doughnut, or a cup of coffee, or anything you believe will lesson your blood pressure.
Again, my statement is true, anyone can join.

You may want to reconsider. Their are real advantages to a membership. A call to Nikon may prove very helpful.

I'm going to assume that this part of the quote was not meant for me.

This part of someone else's quote has nothing to do with me and your PM should have been addressed to him.

One of the requirements was proof of sale (receipt or paid invoice) from a client that I could not provide and was denied membership though I met the equipment requirements.

This really belongs in a thread of its own.
