There are minimum equipment (serial numbers of USA PRO cameras and lenses) AND Published photo requirements along with the recommendation of two current members. Please, do not spread false info on NPS or you just might find yourself looking in from the outside. Personally, I will not sign for anyone I don't personally know is a pro and suggest you don't either.

I purchased a used Tamron 200-500 at The Photo Center at a reasonable price and have been very pleased with it. Also bought a ProMaster tripod with which I am very pleased.

That's why I suggested people just go down the authorized Nikon dealers list one by one until you hit pay dirt.

You may want to reconsider. Their are real advantages to a membership. A call to Nikon may prove very helpful.

One of the requirements was proof of sale (receipt or paid invoice) from a client that I could not provide and was denied membership though I met the equipment requirements.
