I love mine too. But please advise on the duplex printing. I have to do mine in two steps but it works.

Click on Print > More settings > Two-sided. Then you have a choice of which side. It reminds you to check the print density. I always select "Print" because any graphics aren't that important.

FWIW: the only photo printing issue I ever had was due to needing to run thru the print head cleaning routine several times after a long period of non photo printing.

After 6 or 7 print head cleanings being run all was fine in my 2550

I ran through the print head deep cleaning thing twice on the Epson 2750. Both times one color was messed up and the deep cleaning fixed it. Unfortunately, it didn't help the photo printing at all and, while the printer uses almost no ink printing even photos, the deep cleaning drank the ink big time. I think I could have printed a 1000 or 2 documents with the ink used in the deep cleaning. Epson warns you of this.

Your 2550 cost more than 2x what my 2750 cost, but if it prints decent pics, probably worth it. Call me paranoid, but I can't help thinking Epson deliberately made sure my ET 2750 would fail at photo printing because they wanted to sell more ink/more expensive printers for those doing photo work.

I think Epson, like everyone else, has been making good, cheap, photo printers for years, that ran out of expensive ink in minutes, so I don't see how they couldn't easily make this thing do a decent enough job with photo's.

Again, it could be me, although I doubt it, I've been at this for way too long, or it could be just my model, or even just my one particular machine.

Good deal! I have had an Epson 2550 eco tank for a couple of years now, I did need to add black ink once, but the other colors are still about 1/2 full presently.

I use Canon paper to print photos and it does a good job for me, but is only good up to 8 1/2 by 11.

Definitely cheaper than cartridges!

So you use the same printer that I have, and it prints good photo's with Canon paper. I've used Kodak and Memorex. Can I ask what applications you use to send the photo's to the printer? I'm thinking possibly my older apps like PS CS2 was not happy talking with my printer? I don't think I've sent any photo prints to this thing other than with CS2.

I'm not looking for museum quality prints, just decent, in the ball park. 8 1/2x11 is fine with me. I send larger stuff out anyway, and not that often.

Here are two prints an 11x14 sent out to print on semigloss paper and a 8x10 matte printed on my Epson ET-4550. I have also printed hundreds of 4x6 post card potos on just plane card stock.

The secret to decent photo printing with office Epsons is proper color management practice:

Calibrate your monitor with a hardware/software kit.

Use OEM PHOTO PAPER. If you don’t, then download and install ICC profiles from a third party manufacturer for YOUR SPECIFIC printer/paper/ink set combination.

Be sure you use the Epson driver to control color for Epson papers, and that you choose the correct paper type in the driver. Use Epson photo papers at first. Only after you make decent prints on OEM paper should you use third party papers.

When using Epson papers, DO NOT allow your software to control the color.

When using third party papers, TURN OFF color management by the printer driver, and TURN IT ON in your application software. Still select the correct paper type in the driver.

This process works well for me... I’ve used six cheap office Epsons over many years with good (proof quality) results.

I usually print from Photoshop, but also send from Lightroom every so often. I subscribe to the Adobe Photography plan, so I am using the latest Adobe versions of both.

I don't print from either. I use Apple photos and ON1.

I've had the 7700 for more than two years and have just started on the second set of ink bottles (supplied free with purchase). Miserly.

I have the ET-2750. I agree, it is awesome for text. Photo printing I gave up on. Not sure if it's me, but I printed lots of photo's on el-cheapo Canon printers, and one HP printer, and they worked just fine for me. I was hoping this thing would work as good, but no luck. I can't recommend it for hoggers wanting to use it for photo's. If others find it works well for photo's, then it's me, or my specific model. I do highly recommend it for those with lots of documents to print.

I have the same printer and you're right--it really stinks at printing photos on photo paper. They come out beautifully on regular card stock though.

I bought an Epson ET-2760 ink tank printer this past February ($220), and I'm still using the original ink. I've printed 1,905 pages, and the ink is down about one quarter of the way. Besides that, I still have ink left in the bottles. I bought a back-up supply of ink for just $63. I've never had a printer with such a low cost per page.

It has worked perfectly, and it does a nice job at duplex printing, something I use very often.

I have received similar results as Jerry.
I have the Epson ET4550 and I am well on my way to 5K sheets printed and saving almost twice the cost of the printer.
I order ink from the Epson website. The last time I checked it was almost the same cost as Amazon and Epson gave free shipping.

HUGE WARNING - Epson lists several "Black" inks as refills for their Epson Tank machines.

Read far enough and they warn you to use the "Correct Black" ink refill for your machine.
Just imagine what can go wrong with using "Amazon Basics" or any other generic ink!

The thing with these eco-tank printers is the ink is so cheap there is little reason to fiddle with non-Epson ink.
I've even printed a goodly number of photo prints trying to get mine to print decent photo's, and barely noticed the ink bottles decreasing. I really don't print photo's all that often anyway, but it would really be nice to get a decent print w/o spending a ton of money on ink.

As it stands, I haven't gotten a good photo print, but I print documents willy nilly, and mainly worry only that the ink will eventually dry up rather than run out. I've had this thing almost 3 years and still have lots of ink in the bottles that came with it. I print more than I used to, and I was buying ink so often I eventually went to second party ink and refilling my own cartridges. No need for that with this sucker.

As does HP ... too late for me, I bought ET-3750 months ago ... like it ... ink is cheap, printing is OK but I wouldn't print pictures from it. I use Kodak paper and it was so-so printing pictures.

I have a Canon G6000 tank printer and I love it. Save a TON on ink and don't have to change cartridges every few weeks.
No problem printing photos and they look nice (or course only 4 inks, so not as good as a 6- or 8-ink Photo system).

Had if for 6 mos. and we print several times a week haven't needed a refill yet though I have ink bottles.
I think any ink-jet printer would need cleaning if you don't use it for a month or more.
