I bought an Epson ET-2760 ink tank printer this past February ($220), and I'm still using the original ink. I've printed 1,905 pages, and the ink is down about one quarter of the way. Besides that, I still have ink left in the bottles. I bought a back-up supply of ink for just $63. I've never had a printer with such a low cost per page.

It has worked perfectly, and it does a nice job at duplex printing, something I use very often.

👍👍👍 I have the ET-4550 which is the first generation eco tank printer they came out within 2017. I am only on my 1st set of replacement inks. I only wish they would make a 19 inch version. Keep on printing...

I love mine too. But please advise on the duplex printing. I have to do mine in two steps but it works.

I have the ET-2750. I agree, it is awesome for text. Photo printing I gave up on. Not sure if it's me, but I printed lots of photo's on el-cheapo Canon printers, and one HP printer, and they worked just fine for me. I was hoping this thing would work as good, but no luck. I can't recommend it for hoggers wanting to use it for photo's. If others find it works well for photo's, then it's me, or my specific model. I do highly recommend it for those with lots of documents to print.

I have no problem printing photos. It is a little picky on the brand of paper you print photos on. Mine does not like Kodak or Canon papers

The printer you got would sell for about 89.00 in an HP or Canon version. The difference is that no one with any smarts would think such a complicated machine that would print, scan, and wifi could sell for such a low cost! The deal is that you actually paid for a printer while with the others you are buying into their ink program. They practically give the printers away just so you are locked into purchasing their ink cartridges which are very expensive. I bought one of the very early models of the Epson system and it was saving a ton of money but it being an early version, it did not handle photo printing well and eventually died. I think the newer versions have corrected many of those problems. Currently I'm using a Brother machine which does a great job with photos as well as general printing. It works flawlessly with wifi and the ink is much less expensive than Epson, Canon, or HP inks. The cartridges last a long time also. If someone isn't into inking their own machines, the Brother is a great alternative.

Good deal! I have had an Epson 2550 eco tank for a couple of years now, I did need to add black ink once, but the other colors are still about 1/2 full presently.

I use Canon paper to print photos and it does a good job for me, but is only good up to 8 1/2 by 11.

Definitely cheaper than cartridges!

I've wondered about that and planned on buying some Epson paper when my paper runs out. Thing is, I pretty much quit trying so my old paper will never run out. Guess I'll have to buy some anyway.
I might add that my Epson prints are SO bad I can't imagine it's the paper.

What paper do you recommend?

Epson paper and I have used Georgia-Pacific Premium Photo Matte Paper. Be sure to tell set up all the parameters in the printer for the paper you chose. If you have trouble, try contacting Epson.

FWIW: the only photo printing issue I ever had was due to needing to run thru the print head cleaning routine several times after a long period of non photo printing.

After 6 or 7 print head cleanings being run all was fine in my 2550

I guess I just was patient enough. After running the cleaning option twice, I gave up. Now I wish I would have stuck with it like you did. The ink savings was really a plus!

When I first got it, photos printed fine, later I tried printing photos and they had a yellow or green tint...ran the cleaning 5-6 times till I got good solid lines for all colors on the test page...after that I was good again. Perhaps after a couple of months of non use, same issue, 4-5 runs of the cleaning routine and all was good again.

I would like a new Canon inkjet, but hate moving away from the cheaper ink refills.

I have to admit that when I do have to run the cleaning option. Maybe once or twice a year. It is usually 5 to 8 times. But no big deal since the inks lasts a long long time.

Canon makes a "tank" printer.

This comes at the perfect time, as my old HP printer just died. You must have read my mind.

How do you like it for photos? From what I've been reading, Canon still has a slight edge on photo quality, but I'm sure that's very subjective. Is it pigment ink or dye-based?

The low cost per page is just what I'm looking for, and decent photos. Anything else I can live with. So glad more members are responding with their experiences.
