Being as there are a lot of Pentax users replying to this thread I thought I would chime in as well, Have both the K-3 & the K-3II. I have had just about every Pentax camera out there starting with the K-1000. I am selling one of my telephotos lens, to heavy for me now as I age. I have an Sigma, 500mm F4.5 that is in good to excellent shape (9 on other scales) that I want to sell. Paid ~ $5000.00 from B&H about 5 years ago. I have not used in over a year. I'm asking $2500.00 which I know is a fair price for this prime lens. If anyone is interested I will supply photos. It has had a lens-coat on lens from day one.

Who's developing these photos? Are you converting them to digital? Where do you get film?

I bought my Pentax in 1967 while stationed in Thailand. Shot 35mm slides at the majority of my military career. I have scanned most of them and enjoy viewing the many memories they bring. Was a great camera.

Nationwide there's still many companies that develop and print.
I personally used Dale Laboratories in Hollywood FL. Anything you want from them.
I get films from B & H photo (order online).
But you can get film from Adorama to name another retailer.

Northcoast Photographic Services still process films. They are located in Carlsbad, California.

Ricoh absorbed Pentax. I do not know how much design technology or patents they will adopt.

I liked Ricoh back in the film days, but only have a discontinued digital Pentax"(Ricoh) bridge camera with a decent lens but an amateurish-looking screen menu and very limited manual options.

One hopes they do not simply license out the name to Sakar or one of the other bottom-feeders.

I've been using The Darkroom for years. excellent quality and reasonable prices. They process all sorts of film. I buy film from B&H, Adorama, Ebay, The Film Foundation.

My photographic avocation began with Kodak cameras, point and shoot and one 8mm movie camera. While in the Navy, in 1970, I decided I wanted to shoot SLR so bought a Petri FT and got some accessories for it. Then in the 80s, i had a minor problem with the Petri so bought a Pentax K1000 SE and loved it, it was very similar to my Petri, built solid, felt good in my hands and it had a great reputation. I've had a couple other Pentax and Petri cameras but sold or traded them so I now have just one Pentax K1000SE and one Petri FT. However after working with a school photography company I had the use of digital Canons and decided to get into the current age. I bought a Pentax istD to start. Sold that after I upgraded to a Kx. Wanted a backup so bought another Kx. Last fall bought a K70 with the 18 -135 WR kit lens and find it a very nice camera/lens combo. I've tried selling one of my Kx but no real offers yet. I may give it to one of my grandsons if he shows any interest in photography. Not sure how that will go with his father, my eldest, as he is a Nikonian.

I like the quality of the Pentax cameras I've owned and with my old lenses I have quite a range for shooting a large variety of subjects.

Since I recently bought the K70, I'm not really interested in the new APSC Pentax coming out (whenever it does present itself). Also, with the IQ and resolution I'm getting with my Kx and K70, I'm content to stick with them for some time.

Pentax has been a favorite of mine since I bought my former wife an ME Super back in the early 80s. I acquired that one from her in our divorce as she decided it was not the camera for her.

Over the last several years I have added a Spotmatic II (M42) and a K2, KX, KM, and K1000 to my K-series group. The M-series cameras I've gathered include the ME, the ME Super, MG, MX, and an MV, which is awaiting a refurb. I also acquired a P30T, which I have yet to run any film through but it is fine shape and a good looking camera. In the plastic camera era, I have a ZX-M, ZX-60, (which have plastic lens mounts - what were they thinking!?) and a ZX-7. The ZX series doesn't have a reputation for durability and getting repairs is beyond impossible. I would like to add an LX to my Pentax film camera set, but they are stupid expensive. My only DSLR is a K-5. I would like to add a K-01 to my digital Pentax collection. I have enough K-mount and M42 lenses to keep me happy till I can't lift a camera anymore. I have three of the IQ-Zoom P&S cameras, also. They are sturdy and handy, but noisy in zooming and focusing - they probably need CLA's on the lens gearing but no one works on them and I certainly don't have the skills or tools to do so.

I have the Pentax 645Z. I have used it for a variety of photos from Sports to Portrait to Landscapes. I was able to procure a good selection of lenses at very reasonable prices via e-bay from Japan.

Since it is quite a bit larger and heavier than my Canon 5D4 and R, I do not use it everyday but it is a great camera when you really want the best images. You can't beat the Medium Format look.

Pentax has been a favorite of mine since I bought ... (show quote)

I bought a k-01 when they came out. It had a lot of very nice features& used so many k- mount lenses. I loved that mirror-less little “buggar “ but I absolutely despised the lack of a live viewfinder, cuz out doors in the sun, it was near HOPELESS TO KNOW IF YOU WERE FOCUSED. I then bought a k-5 and was very happy to have it, but it did not have an “articulated screen” but it was a step up from the k-01, and used all my k-mount lenses. Then I bought a k-s2 with a fully articulated screen. Just great, and compact too, still love it, but had to have the first FF PENTAX, so I bought a K-1. Not all of my lenses (K mounts) are primes nor were they made to accommodate full frame, but most are just great.. I have since acquired a couple of fine film era SPOTMATICS, as well as a number of m-42 threaded lense to take me back to the Vietnam year where I first bought my “ near-perfect first spotmatic.am now getting quite into FUJI. Keep shootin!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RJM

I am currently using two Pentax K3 version one bodies. I still own a K200D body. It is not used every day, but is still a very usable camera. I am not ready to leave Pentax for either Canon or Nikon, but I might consider an extra body in the form of a Sony full frame. I am not sure about the K1 body. I would love to own a Medium format Pentax for portrait work.
