I no longer feel bad about GAS...

How fortunate! I recently bought a set of Lionel trains. Of course there is a forum, and everyone on there is a man - middle-aged or older.
Some of their layouts are unbelievable. Trains are loaded with electronics these days. Mine layout will be tiny.
My wife and I both agree. B&H and others make it too easy to fulfill ideas and “suggestions” presented here on Ugly Hedgehog.

If you don't have a willingness to spend time in learning and practice, there's always the option of buying new equipment.
Just remember one thing. If your wife does not love you for gas. Your photo equipment always will. And the beauty of it. It will never argue with you. Even when it is having a bad day.

You may be onto something there..........
Made me laugh! Very true words!

When I die, my family will spend hours and hours sorting my gear.
You wish. More likely they will simply take it to Goodwill or sell it at their next yard sale for 1/10 its worth 😁

I feel better now - thanks, I think.
i still haven't found the gear that will make the pictures that I want made automatically
GAS relief has made me more active. I recently sold 2 DSLRs and my lens collection and purchased a mirrorless with a nice lens. I was previously spending more time thinking about which camera to use for the day instead of using a camera. Now with one camera and one lens I feel relieved from my GAS and am enjoying taking pictures. Okay, a little obsessive but it worked.

More then once I have considered converting part of my garage into a train layout. Fortunately, my garage, which has not had a vehicle in it in over 25 yrs, is far too crammed with other stuff for that to happen! I wish I still had the Lionel trains I had as a kid in the fifties.
