I shot this heavily cropped image with a Sony RX100iv at full telephoto on a golf course in Florida.
Can anyone identify the critter?
Thanks.

Adult White Ibis. I’m trying to figure out what it picked up too. At first I thought it might be a snake, But I’m not sure. When I took a second look, the item looked man-made.

The critter I’m referring to is not the Ibis (note title), but the segmented giant worm-like creature I saw it pull from the ground.

Sorry about my mistake. I have absolutely NO idea what he’s got. Do you have any shots from a different angle or with better resolution?

No, unfortunately. My golf cart driver was not willing to drive closer… maybe because water separated us. Non-photographers just do not understand!

Tell me about it. My husband is a “non photographer” and one of his favorite things to say when I want to stop somewhere - anywhere - to take a shot is “it’ll be here tomorrow”. So now we take my car and I drive!!

A shoe from a very large horse. Be very afraid of who might ride a horse that size.
Was it shaped like that when it was pulled from the ground?

How much water? Tidal area? might be some sort of eel which got stranded and the ibis is the local scavenger?...
