I really didn’t notice much of the background.

The model was great. The day was crappy, on the verge of rain. To nail this action I shot it at F8 at 1/2000 sec. on Auto ISO. The light was so bad that the ISO turned out to be 4500. Consequently the dynamic range and image quality was not real good. I used a lot of Photoshop tricks to bring it around but It still looks on the dull side. Oh, well, not as exuberant as I envisioned.

Great capture. Beauty and Action both!

You are too hard on yourself. I think you and her look great.

I think the model made the shot with her exuberance. It may have been a dull day, but she was shining!

I actually like all there images for different reasons and I appreciate the tip on blending. Beautiful model and skilled photographer. Did a flash off to the right make the water so bright??

Thanks for sharing and raising the bar.

Beautiful photograph. I think it would be great on paper in graphite pencil.

Great tip on the B&W overlay. Yes, it improves the subtly. Your model is so radiant, and minor "flatness" in the photo will be more than overwhelmed by her. I'd consider it done so you don't over cook your beautiful photo.

I like it too. I think the model and the action overcome the weather hands down. To my eyes the weather is not a distraction to the shot. I prefer the color over the BW.

Great catch. I think you definitely captured the decisive moment. THAT is the value here and what is great about it.

There is something A bit odd about her left breast in the nipple area on the original.

I love the sense of motion instead of showing her just standing or sitting. You are being too self-critical about the color original. I know this forum discourages comments about the models themselves, but she is exceptionally gorgeous--a perfect figure for this type of shot.
