It’s really a shame that there are few to no camera stores on the gulf side of Florida, as there are so many great birding sites. I was at the Venice rookery several months ago, and plenty of chicks and feeding parents. I don’t understand why all the major photo stores are in the Miami/Palm Beach area. There are or were daily photo tours all through central Florida as well.

Do you have a Best Buy in your area? Some of those stores are surprisingly good for photo gear. And they price match many others and offer a 30 day return policy. You could do worse...

Another recommendation for Johnson. Right off 75N.

The Yellow Pages can be a helpful resource to locate retailers in any particular area.

I've lived in Naples, FL for nearly 5 years and, strangely enough, haven't found a store in SWFL which sells equipment on a retail basis. Adorama and B&H Photo have great stuff but mail ordering thru them can be challenging at times. Any ideas welcome!
Thx

I have no PERSONAL experience with them, but my local camera store manager also recommends Johnson Photo Imaging in Bradenton. He says they have knowledgable staff and good inventory. Prices comparable with B & H. Stay safe, Lo

Orlando is a fairly long drive from the Sarasota area.

If I want to walk into a camera store, I must first drive two and a half hours to get there. Then drive two and a half hours to get home. That is the state of the world today.
