You people are the one’s missing the point. It’s not going away ever. The masks and all the other crap just prolong the time it is actively spreading. The more time it takes to spread the more deaths will accumulate. If it was allowed to run it’s course in the first place it would in all probability be gone until next year.

Along with millions dead in the US alone. Is that your suggested strategy based on your considered professional medical opinion?

And the “lab theory” has largely been debunked.

You can bet that any thread dealing with the virus will (sadly ultimately) turn political with all the attic dwellers chiming in with conspiracy theories.

The average mortality rate from a Covid infection is currently averaging about 3.3% depending on the day (figures from CDC and Johns Hopkins), and the current US population is 328 million. You do the math - what % of the population would need to contract the virus for the death toll to be 1 million? 2 million? I’ll give you a hint: ~10 and 20%. Not an unreasonable infection rate if we return to business as usual, take zero precautions and let the disease “run it’s course” Approximatey 1.5% of the US population have already become infected in just a few months in spite of our best preventative efforts, although they have certainly been inconsistent and poorly led (and that’s being very charitable).

Duke University tested masks using lasers. The wanted to see how much came through various kinds of masks. Neck gaiters are so porous that, as the person exhales through it, the fabric breaks up the larger particles into smaller one which will hang around longer They say that if you can see light coming through your mask, or if you can easily blow through it, it's not doing its job.

Unfortunately, the purpose of a mask is to protect the public from the wearer, so if people insist on wearing gaiters or pulling their T-shirt up over their noses, the virus will continue to spread faster, as it has been doing lately.

A wet T-shirt pulled up over the nose might prove more effective.

"More effective" than what? You responded to a post talking about a means of testing.
If you are talking above the available masks, I really doubt if I single layer of cloth is going to be more effective than masks made of three layers of cloth.

You're being way to serious.

Do you mean the 2009-2010 pandemic??
Hardly.
The CDC estimates that 12469 {range: 8868-18,306} Americans died from it {less than 10% of deaths attributed to Covid so far.

That’s due to a number of reasons:

1. The Governors, and mayors are afraid to hold them accountable
2. Rules of decency no longer applies
3. African Americans do whatever they want, and have no fear of any punishment

Also notice how many funerals were held, and attended by thousands, and it was okay. But we can’t visit a sick or dying relative, nor can we go to a loved ones funeral. Can I say double standard is alive and flourishing?

RIGHT BIAS
These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.

Overall, we rate LifeSiteNews far right biased based on story selection that always favors evangelical Christianity and Mixed for factual reporting due to a few failed fact checks.

The mantra now is
1. sanitizing hands
2. social distance
3. mask
4. avoid crowds, which includes most bars

Well today is Wednesday, so we’re in the middle of our Super Spreader event in South Dakota known as the Sturgis Rally. More than 200k have arrived from all over the country (world even). Mask wearers - virtually none. Same for helmet wearers - none. Only 2 vehicle related deaths so far but for the rest of the country - brace yourselves for new corona hotspots!

Not so simple???? But it is a starting point and is useful, to a degree, to limit the uncontrolled spread. Do you have a better alternative at this time? Please share it with us.

My better "alternative" is to do all the above and try very hard to stay out of stores. Get groceries either delivered to your home or delivered to your car in the parking lot of the supermarket. Order as much as you can online. Also, wear a face shield or goggles as well as a mask. Read some of the graphic accounts of people diagnosed with "mild" cases of the virus who are suffering miserably for months afterwards.
