I upgraded from CS4 to CS6 when I got a new Mac recently. Previously I was using a PC. I had to provide the serial # for the CS4 to adobe so I could buy an upgrade instead of paying full price. They made it pretty painless.
A friend was using CS5 on his PC last year. He purchased a Mac. He wanted the mac version on a disc. He had to pay $10.00 for Adobe to mail him Mac version. Again simple and painless.

Like Marvin said call Adobe they will give you a Mac version I had to sign an agreement that I would discontinue use of the Windows version and update to the latest version. Call Adobe
