planepics Loc: St. Louis burbs, but originally Chicago burbs

I took A to my "normal" framer yesterday and ordered work on it. It better look as good when finished as one or two corners demonstrated (it's the 2nd most I've paid for framing - just shy of $95). Finished size will be a hair under 12x20 and will have a thin black matte (1/4 or 1/2 inch) next to the image with a much thinker greyish-green (although I didn't see any green tint) matte on the outside, with a beveled black frame. This will be my 6th pic to have something other than a Walmart frame. I should get it in 2-3 weeks (it's a one-man and his wife operation).

Be sure to post a pic of the finished product. Good luck.

I certainly will post a pic. In the future I may re-crop to make the plane bigger and lessen the clouds or change dimensions (currently 16x9", but I'm happy with the way it looks now. Just FTHOI I used the pic as wallpaper for my laptop. After I printed it yesterday I used a magnifying glass (10 or 15X - one on either side) and I was tickled to find I could read the pilot's name and other words on the plane. Either I have a decent lens, a good focusing system on my camera, a good printer or some combination. Here's the last pic I had the same framer do (to show his work). I took the pic last year at Oshkosh and it was chosen as Picture of the Week in a daily aviation e-newsletter.

The matte colors do not necessarily have to match a color in the print. They may match one color or not but the matting will at least compliment the colors or complement each other if it's a doodle mat.

Like your second photo with the green and yellow yellow compliments the nose of the plane and green and yellow are complementary to each other.

A-frame(d)

Got it back form the framer this afternoon. The image has some weird discoloration that is totally absent from the actual print - probably a combination of the window and the nearby fabric drapes. I like it and it's going to go on my wall at the earliest chance.
