Canon has a 1 year warranty on refurbished. $395 for the 77d, also deals on m50, rebel, and RP (if interested in full frame.) https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/cameras/refurbished-eos-interchangeable-lens-cameras

Canon refurbished is a great way to go! However the 77D is out of stock right now on their refurbished site.

Maybe a hogger has one to sell? You could put an ad up under for sale and say WANTED. If you can’t trust a hogger, who can you trust?

The newest rebel looks like a nice camera, not sure if it's out of budget.

Looks good on paper, I haven't tried it. Might be out of budget Though.

I have the cash but for the extra money doesn't improve that much. the 77d has main dial for choosing on rigjt side the txxiseries on left. I shoot astronomy and having controls in different locations tough. I have aprivate seller that wants $500 for a t7i with lens so thats a good deal especially if I can bargain price $50 down. No tax.
I like the t8i but not released yet or short supply. everything is short supply now. went in person to
B &H last week and tripods had limited supply.
I wanted this for comet but NJ weather iffy

I want to buy another camera body and love my canon 77d. When I retired 2 yrs ago looked at other canons but this met my needs and price point. I cant find one refurbished and did a search for used. B and H, KEH, MPB, and Adorama. no stock left of that camera. I would buy a body only.
Abes of Maine comes up over and over but from reading here terrible reputation. Canon USA will repair grey market cameras. Does anyone know what tricks they pull. Over the years I've dealt with some shady NYC camera stories over my life until
B and H came along.
Abes price on new is hundreds dollars cheaper. I can resist hard sells but I've read somany bad stories and BBB gives them an F.
I'm happy with a used body but the price btw used body and new grey market not much.
Any other dealers to look into as the 77d just not available. Maybe canon coming out with a new model or they relying on the T8i replacing it. Thanks.

I have been using two bodies for events for several years now. It's useful to have different lenses on each body so you can switch lenses/bodies quickly as long as you have a bag that will hold one while you're using the other.

As far as where to buy the body, I would always advise a reputable dealer. Abe's has a reputation, but it's the wrong kind. I would not buy from them even if the deal were good because I don't want to encourage that sort of marketing.

I can't advise on Canon models because I'm a Nikon guy, but my dealings were always with either local dealers I can trust or online dealers like B&H or Adorama. If the price is a bit higher, there's probably a good reason. I trust them and they have done well by me when I ordered from them.

In the long run "hundreds of dollars" is not worth a lot of hassle when dealing with someone with a bad reputation.

I called abes today. the battery extra, charger extra, strap extra so they're no cheaper and zero warranty

Go to Nikon, Rumors say Canon is going the way of the Dinasour.😂

Looked at the market share and financials of the two companies recently?

Regarding Abe’s, I bought from them once before I knew better. If you choose to deal with them after what you’ve discovered, you deserve what you get (or don’t get). The camera will not have a Canon warranty, and they likely won’t actually ship the camera unless you agree to buy a 3rd part warranty and accessories that would normally be included without charge.

I saw their warranty prices but didn't realize they wouldn't release camera w/o it. I would go to store but one call said it all. No BATTERY CHARGER STRAP which is in the box

I have dealt with Abe's, and I would again, if in need of camera equipment. Yes, they do sell grey market items. Yes,, they will try to sell you insurance on your purchase. But, the bottom line is, ask questions!! Ask if the item you want is a grey market item, they will answer honestly. You DON'T HAVE TO BUY anything that you don't want to buy. If Canon will repair grey market cameras/lenses, then I would definitely say deal with Abe's. Just my opinion.

Who cares what tricks they've pulled?! If you deal with them, perhaps they'll pull a new one, just for you.

Roberts Camera (robertscamera.com) has a Canon 77D new for $549 after $250 instant rebate? I have no idea if this is a good price, but I usually use Roberts and their associated used site, usedphotopro.com. The used site doesn't have one right now...
