I love covered bridges and the unique sound of vehicles crossing them.

Some Maine covered bridges

Nice set, Pat. I'm not familiar with that first one. Good that you didn't show details of the graffiti in the Porter-Parsonsfield bridge. I noticed from looking at some of my own photos that some of it is not exactly G-rated.

p.13 So, you got to see the bridge in the "up" position. The former bridge had to be opened often and preferred to get stuck up in the air - trapping traffic on either side.

Very interesting and Unique indeed, they are very rare I think, I myself have never had the opportunity to Walk or Drive thru a Wooden Covered Bridge. I will need to investigate and see if we have any in our state of Michigan, if not far I will go for a Photography outing.

https://www.mlive.com/entertainment/2016/10/michigans_covered_bridges_trip.html You made me curious as I used to live in MI. Never realized there were so many.

Karin a couple of more. I Hired on with the contractor doing inspection on the what was Rt 17 In N.Y. I worked as instrument man on the survey crew and as well a concrete inspector.
Piers were 50 or 60 feet high. A concrete pore would start at 6am and some ended 12 hours later.

Wow, dane - you and lhammer have so much in common and that includes concrete
