Well, I graduated to a Yamaha 650 vertical twin, and then to a 1000cc H-D Sportster (which I had refitted with a belt drive -- the only 1984 Sportster in DFW with one).

Visiting Oregon's 54 covered bridges - just 32 more to visit.
The Crawfordsville Bridge spans the Calapooia River adjacent to Oregon Route 228 near the community of Crawfordsville in Linn County, Oregon, United States. The 105-foot Howe truss type bridge was built in 1932.
The bridge was bypassed in 1963 and is now used as a pedestrian bridge across the river. Since 1990, the bridge has been the site of a Bridge Day festival held annually in the summer. A small park next to the bridge includes a picnic table and fire pit.
The bridge was featured in the 1976 television movie The Flood
The 1996 flood almost got it, but it survived despite the loss of some one-inch diameter steel rods that held it in place.

Yes, they did replace them and several of the heavy timbers used to support the span.
I did visit this bridge back in 2012 and here is a photo I took of it back then. You can see how much it has degraded since it had been taken

This is another restored covered bridge in Bridgeton, Indiana. Indiana has quite a few old covered bridges.
The other two are just to show some other types of bridges, old and new style. The structural steel is the old chain of rocks bridge near St. Louis and the string bridge is the Clark Bridge across the Mississippi into Alton, Il

Visiting Oregon's 54 Covered Bridge - Another one down, 31 left to go
Irish Bend Covered Bridge - Bridge No. 14169 - Length 60 ft.
Original Cost $1,120 -- Cost to Move $60,000 -- Cost to rebuild $305,000
Built 1954 - Moved 1988 - Rebuilt 2020
In 1954, the Irish Bend Bridge was constructed over a backwater slough of the Willamette River on Irish Bend Road, about 15 miles south of Corvallis. In 1975, the road was realigned and a new culvert replaced the covered bridge as the crossing of choice.
Three decades from its initial construction, in 1988, the structure was dismantled. Discussions between Benton County and OSU (Oregon State University) followed, and $60,000 of community and grant fundraising later, the bridge was relocated to its current site over Oak Creek.
