My guess is that when you took the picture you were struck by the vastness of the prairie, the feeling of loneliness and what it might have been like to live there in isolation. Now that you have the image, it's not quite evoking that feeling. Hard to capture those type of feelings in an image. I think the advice you've been getting is how to make the picture more attractive visually but I'm guessing that's not why you took the picture.
Just a thought, you might try black and white. But then again, everyone has a great idea that won't work.

Thanks Reuss. I kinda like the B/W. I’m currently viewing on my cell phone. When I get to my computer with a large screen I’ll look again

It seems to match what you said about taking it in the first place. I tinkered with lighting on the BW image also.
