Has anyone ever seen a full frame camera on the road to failure?

OK you convinced me. Here it goes: Which viewfinder is better? The electronic one from the mirrorless camera or the optical. My opinion after using both is that a high quality high resolution electronic viewfinder offers better low light images that the optical counterpart. I see more detail which quite remarkable. As far as which one takes better pictures, that is not a function of mirrorless or DSLR rather the sensor and software. Either camera style can perform better than the other and is not limited by the design concept. Hope you got all this so now let’s get the mudslinging started and see where it goes. Maybe we will reach 30 pages on this issue. (Would that be a record)

The road to Failure is paved with the hand baskets of Good Samaritans.

The full frame DSLR is not on the road to failure but possibly on the path of extinction. . . .

So why do all the pros still use them?

The reason should be obvious. They have not yet reached to the end of the path.

Because they always have done it this way.
Also some lenses are not compatible and they all need adaptors. Big expense to change.

An amateur will tend to believe hard work is what brings good luck and success. Professional photographers know the secret is a full-frame camera.

It's a bit like that old question "Have you stopped beating your wife?" You're damned no matter which answer you give. If you choose the DSLR (because it has the better IQ) you'll be branded as a heretic by the mirrorless zealots but if you pick the mirrorless you'd rightfully be questioned about why you'd choose the camera with the worse IQ. So the presence or absence of a mirror has no bearing on the decision. In this case it would be decided on the sensor (46mp vs. 26mp) or perhaps FF vs. crop sensor.

Cuz they’re also on the road to extinction. So obvious that it prolly occurred to you the moment you clicked send, right ?

Oooops sorry. That failed to specifically address the “why”. “Why” is cuz they love that noise the SLR ensemble makes at press briefings. That and it makes them feel so, you know ... “real pro”. Kinda like leaving a patch with your diesel PU. An SLR is like that manly fragrance of soot and hot rubber. You hafta get it to get it. You get it. You can sense it from your personal SLR. The pulsing of its mirror slapping heart at 10 fps ... Sooooo Pro.

‘Sounds like you REALLY want a 12x12 view camera with glass plates and a black rag over your head and the camera!

Mirrors are great especially when they bounce and shake the camera on a tripod during slow exposures. Love that feeling, it puts a blur on the image. Maybe I should get a better tripod.

Wrong, all you need is a full frame sensor. . .
