What's this about? Never heard of such a thing. :)

I like 'fire photography', and these are so pretty, with all the colors.

Copper pipe and green hose trick? Can you explain what that means or how to duplicate it? I love the pictures as well. I thought the colors was from one of those Duralogs, along with some wood as well.

May I recommend going to manual and choosing 1/250 sec minimum at f11 using ISO 100. This will freeze the flames and give a proper exposure for the flame. It also eliminates the wood and other non fire elements. If you need to adjust anything use the aperture. Slowing down the shutter speed causes motion blur on the fire. If anything speed up the shutter speed as fire is very very fast moving.

And thanks for steering me to the colored flame effects. I'm just itching to try it out.

I love the last 4 shots. You should encourage your daughter to contribute to UHH
I see you were burning wood. What else was in there?

She is a member, but when she posted some of her photo's some of the members ripped them apart without offering any constructive advice, and being the sensitive soul she is, it hurt her a lot and she stopped posting.

I only hope that your daughter will post again. No matter where you go, there will always be some creeps that come out of the woodwork to put someone down for their own failings. These kinds of people have no life other than attempting to make life miserable for others. I apologize for these miscreants...they have no right to be among real people who only want to help and enlighten.

I agree with what everyone has posted, it is sad when meanness is used as a teaching tool. There is a place to post your pictures for critique and comments all others are off limits unless the posting person asks.... when one asks I guess you can expect anything to come out of the woodwork. Finesse and common courtesy can be used in teaching.... Please have her come back and post more. Youth is our future.
