I strongly suggest a Pelican storage case; it’s large enough to store two bodies and six lenses but is quite heavy to lug around.

I've had bags/cases made by Lowepro and Think Tank, but also three Pelican cases of which I now have two. (I sold one a few years ago that was allowed as carry on, but wish I hadn't.) In any case, these are really worth every penny. Only thing I use now.

Dear Dat,
I’ve made my mind up to order the Pelican. Actually, I’m ordering the larger 1650 to store all my gear in at home. I’ll be able to easily load up my Domke J1 Journalist bag, taking MoneyMaker along with gear for the days shoot. Even have room for a much desired Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 in the future. I really appreciate everyone comments and help. I really mean that. UHH readers are the best. By the way, that Nikon 70-200 f/2.8E arrived today and I was bowled over. Autofocus was unbelievably fast. Only wish my 24-70mm f/2.8G was the newest version with VR- just for the faster autofocus. But that’s another story. Anyway, I’m plumb tuckered out emptying my piggy bank figuring how to pay for it all. lol. Night all.

I have a Pelican 1560 hard case I use to transport my Nikon D7200, D500 and D850 bodies and a few lenses. I also have several steel reinforced aluminum cases I bought from Harbor Freight. I custom cut heavy duty rubberized foam to hold my Canon 5D mk IV, 5DSr, 6D, 7D mk II, 70D, 80D and 90D, along with my SL1, SL2 and SL3, and several Canon and Sigma and Tamron EF mount lenses plus a case for my bridge cameras and cases for flash gear and accessories. I also have two soft cases, one is a ProMaster and the other is a large back pack labeled National Geographic. The Harbor Freight cases work quite well. They're about the size of a large brief case and and very customizable.

I've used a Porter Case for years. It also converts to a hand cart for carrying your other luggage.

I own a D7100 and a D750, along with SB-700 Speedlight. Looking for something to carry this gear along with Nikon’s Big 3 lenses. I have the 24-70mm f/2.8. The 70-200mm f/2.8 will be here this week, and I Know I will need the 14-24mm f/2.8 in the upcoming weeks. Gotten good comments often from UHH readers and need advice on the best value for the money in a tough, dependable, not terribly expensive case. This might do the job. At least for one body. Call and ask, they are good.

Could you clarify, please, whether these will be used for shipping, air travel to a destination, permanent storage, etc.? All of us face storage and travel challenges, and the intended usage could dictate the options.

Pelican 1650 is the one I have, built like a tank! Congrats on the new 70-200. You can “convert” the 24-70 f/2.8G into a VR version by buying a Z7. 😁

Greer,
I do not know about the practicality of using a Pelican case to carry around as much gear as you mention, but I can speak of the durability and seal ability of their cases. When I was a guide on New River and Gauley River in West Virginia for over 20 years, we used Pelican boxes to keep our major medical supplies dry and in tact. In all those years, I never saw one of these cases fail. I acquired one for my personal camera gear, which I used on the Colorado as well, and that old Nikon FG still works great to this day.
If you find one of their products that meets your needs, I don't think you could go wrong.

Mr. Quach, which Pelican is in the photo? That would be perfect for my needs today and into the future. Definitely going with Pelican. Thanks.

Me. Quach,
The VR is nice to have but wasn’t a deal breaker. What amazed me was the speed and accuracy of autofocus. And, “No, the DSLR will not be obsoleted any time soon. I asked in another post which case you had in the picture. I obviously overlooked you mentioning the 1650 here. Thanks. It will be perfect.
