In the place I saw this, many said 10. But the OP said 10 was wrong.

How many animals are going to the river?
If you win, I will delete your answer so that others can still guess .
I actually do not know the answer. You might consider telling your logic.

1 rabbit
3. every elephant saw 3 monkeys - did not say they were unique, E not going to river
6. each monkey had 2 tortise
10 Total

I assume that tortoises are considered animals.
1 rabbit saw 9 elephants while going to the river.... (show quote)

OK, here's my last reply. It is a bit vague about the monkeys. Did each elephant see the same 3 monkeys or 3 different ones for each elephant ... the riddle does not say. So depending upon the two possibilities as to the number of monkeys, the answer could be either 10 (1 rabbit / 3 monkeys / 6 tortoises) OR if each elephant saw 3 different monkeys from the other 8 elephant, the answer could be 82 (1 rabbit / 27 monkeys / 54 tortoises).

Question:
1 rabbit saw 9 elephants while going to the river. Every elephant saw 3 monkeys going to the river. Each monkey had 1 tortoise in each hand.

2 possible answers.

1: 1 rabbit going to the river. 1
9 elephants 9
9 elephants times 3 monkeys 27
27 monkeys times 2 tortoises 54
total 91

2: Same number, except you did not specify that the elephants were actually going to the river.
total 91
Minus elephants 9
Revised total 82

Which is correct depends on your command of semantics.
