Supporting the President of the United States of America is my duty and responsibility, and the duty and responsibility of every citizen of the United States. We have way too many "social programs" today. Only the ones that are the benefit to any and all citizens still remain. If one is not a citizen no benefits should be allowed.

Mo, your duty is not to support ANY president. If you think that way you have not understood your oath, at all.

The Constitution is the supreme authority in my book. We should all follow it and NO ONE is above that law.

I took that oath on August 1, 1968. I have said many times since that it has no expiration date and I will continue to follow it, no matter what. My country right or wrong, but always, my country.

"Defend the constitution" What does this mean today?

Support a president that is tearing down every social progress made in the past fifty years?

If so, sorry, you are barking at the wrong tree.

So you didn’t serve. Why am I not surprised?

My statement is clear. The top commanders in the DOD reflected their way of thinking when the so called president wanted to use the military as 'control forces to reinforce the police'.

Funny how short our memory is.

Supporting the constitution does not mean accepting illegal orders from a so called president out of control. Accepting illegal orders will land you in hot water according to military law.

For that to be a good oath, you need to have the right people in control - people that have the right motives and agendas. Even presidents can fall victim to misguided ideas (that comment isn't aimed at your present president, but there have been times in the past....).

If not aimed at the person who is in office now, then which past President or presidents are you referring to? And why's that? I agree with you about it is important for the executive of a nation to have the right motives and agendas.

I guess I am slow on the uptake, but what is the "Brown Boot" that you say is returning? I googled "Brown Boot" but what I got was information about footwear. Perhaps the information is on the "Dark Web"?

Well said. I took the oath in 1952. That was 68 years ago and or president was Eisenhower. He was quite a different president that the current one in almost every way.

Politics was completely different back then as well. The Democratic Party was somewhat racist as it is now but I doubt it supported thuggish anti American groups such as BLM or Antifa as it does today. I don't recall the Democratic Party looking to push Socialism on American citizens as it is doing today. I don't think politicians were as corrupt along with feckless back then as they are today.

You may not like Trump's bluster, braggadocio methods and I do not either. But I do like the fact that he has done things other Presidents have only talked about. He has also done much in just his first three years. Imagine if he had some help from the Democratic Party on issues such as immigration reform and the infrastructure. Last I heard Pelosi refused to work with President Trump in any way. As for infrastructure wasn't it Schumer who said he would work with Trump so long as infrastructure was done HIS way. Doesn't sound like working together to me. How about you?

Maybe you can tell me exactly what the Democratic half of Congress has actually accomplished in the past 3 1/2 years other than endless badgering of Trump, calling him names, harassing his family and more endless investigations that have proven nothing against Trump.

The Army used to wear Brown leather boots or shoes then switched to Black.

For the Navy it was brown for aviators and associated and black for surface navy officers.
