Sorry about getting off subject. But national health is everyone's concern.
Yes indeed. My wife is an RN also. If you hate wearing a mask, you’re going to REALLY hate wearing a ventilator.

How I live as a free citizen is more important than the media BS - everyone dies of something. I do not have the disease, until I do, I can't infect anyone. If I become ill, I will stay home, and live or die. Your wife is named Karen?

Must to agree. This has become a political issue when in fact it is pure science. Next time you have surgery if your surgeon chooses not to wear a mask, to protect YOU from cross infection, head for the door. I am an RN as well.

Sorry, if you have to agonize over camera choices, and ask help on a trivial issue can I trust you to create a good straw man? Quote a credible study on masks and the virus. Good luck with your choice of cameras. Quixdraw out.
senior techie,
Back to cameras..... I wanted a small and light kit. I have two lenses and a body all from Panasonic. It is about 5 pounds and covers the full frame equivalent field of view from 28mm to 800mm.

Oh my, photography has been a hobby for a number of yrs. medicine has been my career for 35 years. College and post grad degree. I can list a number of credible sources of the transmission of airborne infection. It is not an opinion it is a proven fact. It is the following of these proven scientific facts that is your personal choice. CDC, NHI, WHO for sources. As a member of a society, it is my personal responsibility to do what ever measures needed to try and contain a communicable airborne virus, not that difficult. At best it may help, at worst it doesn’t.

I don’t shoot Nikon or Leica. Some day I plan to play with these toys. I started with a Zenit-E back in 1976. The thing was a beast and weighed more than a brick. Then there was the Canon AE-1. Still a beast but truly a worthy camera. Then the Canon EOS Rebel 2000. I hardly knew it was there. Then the Canon 5D MarkII which I love. Now my new passion is the Mark IV.
Way back when I started in High School, my teacher said our eyes will see photographs around us. Let’s make sure we have a camera in our hand to record and share our visions.
In your case, scaling down is fine. Perhaps one lens in your bag is also a plus. Limit your gear to as little as possible. If you can’t hold the gear in two hands, leave it behind. Most of all, enjoy photographing. It seems to be the way to pass time during the CoronaVirus Pause!
Happy Shooting!

Thanks for your information. Will research.

Many of the Panasonic cameras use Leica lenses. Just like many Sony cameras use Zeiss lenses. Panasonic gives you more options at a lower price than Leica. It's all compromise.
That’s what life is compromise!

Dear All: I am a pharmacist at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. Since this pandemic graced our shores I and my colleagues have risen to the challenge just like we did with Measles, Tuberculosis, Nine Eleven, Zika, Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, Ebola and Corona. And we will do it again and again. As the pandemic evolved we have struggled and did our best at saving people. I would go to work early eager to start my duties. I would stay late to resolve issues that fell beyond my shift. We all have because of the training and the commitment we have undertaken.
At Bellevue, we have set aside a room that doesn’t look like a hospital room. It is designed to serve as a respite or relaxation room. I shall be hanging some of my photographs to help my colleagues through this tough time.
My point is simple. I always take my camera and photograph anything and everything. Photography is my break with the stress of quarantine. I suggest you follow my advice. It may help pass the time.
I wish to thank all of my fellow Hoggers for their support.
Sincerely, Steven

I too am a 73 year old Nikon user (D500, D850). I recently purchased a Nikon Z50 with 16-50 and 50-250 kit lenses. This combo is light weight and an ideal travel setup. You have to get comfortable with mirrorless, but as an experienced photographer this should not be too difficult. Also, you can use all your F mount lenses with the Nikon FTZ adapter.
