What you have is beautiful, but I would loose the foreground and shoot more of the sky for this kind of shot.

I absolutely agree! Thanks for the input.

Thank you, this image really taught me a lot concerning taking and processing night images. I still have much to learn.

Great work. I would crop out or ,clone out the car on the left if it were my pic. A lot of the time I never see things like that until I print large. Really p*#^ me off.

I went back and forth about the car. Did it distract or give a sense of scale? I guess that it does both.

Wow! I'm impressed. As mentioned, I would park the car behind the camera for the next photo. But again, Wow!

Thanks. Actually, the car is parked in the only place available off road for about a mile. I got the landowners' permission to be there and gave them a picture of their cabin with the Milky Way behind it for their kindness. I am still debating about cloning it out.

Took a Nikon 14-24 f2.8 out for a more rigorous test. So far I am impressed.
I took two seven shot panos of Camel Rock, one for foreground at 60 sec, f2.8 and ISO 4000, second for sky at 15sec, f2.8 ISO 6400. Processed in PhotoNinja, MS ICE and finished/combined on GIMP. Pano takes in about 200 degrees end to end. Looking closely you can see the Lagoon Nebula, the Eagle Nebula, Jupiter, Saturn all very near Sagittarius and the Andromeda Galaxy just above and right of the fence post and above the clouds.

It is a beautiful creation just the same. Thank you for sharing it.

Inspiring! Curious to know what time of day this composite was taken; looks like dusk, or later? I would love to try my hand at this type of image, if I could find a site without light pollution, of course. Also looking forward to your comments after using the Rokinon.
